Marketing Report – June 8, 2026
Hayward Lakes Visitors & Convention Bureau
Executive Summary
This report summarizes the performance of Hayward Lakes marketing activities for the months
of April and May, including television interviews, social media promotions, email marketing,
radio verbal links, and digital video advertising. Across all channels, the HLVCB delivered strong
engagement rates and significant reach ahead of the peak summer season.
1. Television
Fox 6 Television Interview
Our Hayward Lakes segment aired twice on Fox 6 (Milwaukee) during the reporting period (first
airing April 2nd), providing high visibility in the Milwaukee market.
2. Social Media — Paid Promotion
April Facebook Post
Our April Facebook promotion generated strong results, driving 1,855 clicks to the Hayward
Lakes website. Of those visitors, 1,510 were actively engaged — meaning they interacted with
content rather than immediately bouncing. This represents an 81% engagement rate, well
above typical industry benchmarks of 2–5% for paid social campaigns.

3. Midwest Outdoors — Dedicated Email Campaign
We ran a series of dedicated email placements through Midwest Outdoors targeting an outdoor
recreation audience. Results are broken down by content topic below. Spring Fishing was the
clear top performer across all metrics, while the Visitor Guide placement also delivered quality
traffic with strong time-on-site, a signal that those visitors are actively researching a trip.
Campaign Clicks Engaged Eng. Rate Avg. Time on Site
Banner Ad 49 43 88% 1:00
Spring Fishing 157 144 92% 1:20
ATV / UTV 31 28 90% 0:40
Hiking 8 8 100% 0:34
Biking 10 10 100% 0:20
Visitor Guide 67 60 90% 1:05
Notable: Hiking and Biking both achieved 100% engagement rates — every single visitor who
clicked also engaged with the content. While volumes are smaller, these are highly qualified
audiences with strong travel intent.
4. YouTube Spring Fishing Ads
Both YouTube campaigns are running through May 25th and use a two-campaign strategy: a
traditional video ad to build awareness, paired with a Demand Gen campaign designed to drive
direct action and website clicks. Together, they have delivered outstanding reach and volume
for a highly efficient spend.
Metric Video Ad (Awareness) Demand Gen (Action)
Impressions 800,000 977,000
View-throughs / Clicks 515,000 view-throughs 34,500 clicks
Spend to date ~$1,600 ~$3,600
Cost efficiency ~$0.002 per view ~$0.10 per click
Combined totals: 1.77 million impressions and 34,500+ clicks for approximately $5,200 in total
spend. The Demand Gen campaign is driving clicks at roughly $0.10 per click, an extremely
competitive rate for targeted travel and tourism advertising.
