My deputy left her position in mid-April, so I’ve been handling the office on my own since
then. We’ve had the job posted and are hoping to hire someone soon, especially as we head
into our busy season.

Real Property Lister Report
We are up to date with property transfers and have processed about 260 documents and
13 Certified Survey Maps in the month of April. Three more assessment rolls (Town of
Meteor, Village of Couderay, and City of Hayward) have been printed for upcoming
Boards of Review being held in May. Notices of Assessment for these municipalities have
also been provided to the assessors, if requested, to notify landowners of changes in their
assessed values.
We expect to print another four rolls within the next month, once we’ve received the
assessment data and balanced with the assessors for those municipalities. The final seven
rolls for the municipalities receiving revaluations will not be created until later in the year.
Respectfully submitted,
Kimberly Peterson

County Surveyor’s Report 5/13/26
The survey crew worked on maintenance and collecting updated GPS coordinates on
older corners. We prioritized corners which will soon be under heavy tree canopy. We
worked on corners in Sand Lake, Edgewater, and Lenroot Townships. We also
continue to work on setting monuments in T37N R4W.
We installed approximately 80 new and replacement address signs throughout the
county.
We will soon be shifting focus to preserving corners in highways and Town roads.
Letters have been mailed to the Townships asking that they please notify us before any
road construction begins this season. We will visit endangered corners prior to
construction, take necessary measurements, and replace the corner monuments when
work is complete.
I reviewed 11 Certified Survey Maps in April.
Respectfully Submitted,
Chris Gregory

Zoning & Conservation Department Update April 2026 – May 2026
Prepared by Jay Kozlowski, Zoning & Conservation Administrator
• Tree Sale pick-up finalized the 9th and 10th of May. This was our
30th anniversary of the tree sale event which is a great
opportunity for landowner’s to purchase trees at a bulk cost from
the County.
• Conservation staff have been busy checking dams for water
elevations. Also, additional site visits and non-metallic mining
(gravel pit) inspections are being conducted.
• Winter middle and high schools competed in the Wisconsin
Envirothon on April 10th. Their teacher/coach said: “Our High
School team was not last, which was our goal as we pieced
together that team. Our Middle School team was 4th in their
division. They placed 3rd in Soils, 3rd in the Current Issue
presentation and missed 3rd by 1 point in Aquatic Invertebrates.
To say the least, I believe our future in Envirothon is strong!”
• There is an upcoming Land Conservation Committee training here
at the Courthouse in June. It’s immediately following the June
LWFRC meeting. We highly encourage all LWFRC committee
members to attend. Free lunch will be provided. Registration link
was sent to Committee members.
• Price Dam Update (Lake Winter)
