Page 5 of 36 Sawyer County Airport Management Report April 2025 (Provided by Airport Manager Derek Leslie) -The traffic at the airport has slowed considerably per usual for this time of year. - The WI BOA has officially approved and signed the Forecast in relation to our Masterplan/ALP. Becher Hoppe will be working on the new ALP throughout the spring and summer. Hopefully this fall we will be bringing it to the committee/board for approval. - Charter Spectrum will be conducting work along the fence at the airport near North Namekagon Lane in the right of way. They are bringing a fiber line out to the FAA-VOR site (cone building) on the south end of the airport. This is an FAA funded project. -We have a 30-year hangar lease coming up in July. I would anticipate that to be on the agenda for next month, or month after. This should be a routine renewal. -Our new Snow Removal Equipment status is still at a standstill. Several of the items in the bid are awaiting FAA approval for a buy American waiver. This process apparently takes months and years. The winning bidder, Miller-Bradford Eau-Claire, has been on site at the airport to visit numerous times. It is unknown if we will receive the new equipment in 2026, or even during the 2026/2027 snow season. -Aviation fuel, in particular Jet Fuel, has gone up in price tremendously. It has doubled in cost since the beginning of the year.
