Town Administrator Karalewitz noted the Town doesn’t have the money. They can’t borrow for a product they don’t have. She further questioned some of the contract language that would leave the final cost unknown. Town Supervisor Yerke noted he would be in favor of going with the Pierce Truck as recommended. Town Chairman Topczewski noted the contract provisions favor the contractor and not the municipalities. Chief noted in 2022 they were previously short by 103,000 in revenue and in 2023 they agreed to replenish this fund. This isn’t the transfer fund. It is operational and he agrees. Town Administrator Karalewitz noted the auditor is suggesting a separate fund, so you will see those proceeds separated in the Town. The Village already has a separate fund. Peter Topczewski /Lyle Boucher motion to remove the last sentence in Section V part E. Unanimously carried. Reeves/K Johnson motion to agree to remove the last sentence in Section V Part E. Attorney Macy noted they are removing the account, not funding the operational second fund, and of remaining undesignated surplus they can decide what they want returned at settlement time.
