Discussion/Recommendation regarding starting a Parks Foundation Discussed the hurdles in using a fiscal sponsor for immediate donation needs and how we will no longer be pursuing that option. City already has a Parks Donations line item. We will work to promote that while a Parks Foundation is formed to handle all fundraising needs. Key points discussed are how a Parks Foundation will increase trust in the donation process, the need to revamp the City donation policy, and how the entities would work together for lasting stewardship of our Parks. Discussion/Recommendation regarding Park Board Expertise & Interests Board members discussed their background and interests as a means to help the entire group understand where members may be willing to assist in the mission of the Parks Department. Discussion/Recommendation regarding Future Park Events and Programs After discussing interests, the group brainstormed future events and programs they would like to see the City run. Ideas revolved around card nights, movie nights, camping, adventure/scavenger hunts, theater programming, and athletic programming complementing what the School District and the YMCA are offering. More program insights are to come from the CORP planning process. Adjournment Motion to adjourn at 8:55 pm, by Adam St. Marie. 2nd by Betty Volquardsen; Motion carries Respectfully submitted by David Winger
