Lake Geneva Historic Preservation Commission Meeting Minutes May 12, 2026 -- 4:00 P.M. Lake Geneva City Hall Chairman Ken Etten called the meeting to order at 4:00 P.M. Lake Geneva City Hall; 2C (2nd Floor) Roll Call / Ken Etten, Louise Rayppy, Chris Brookes, Emily Hummel, Sonja Akright, John Halverson, Alderwoman Ja Nelle Powers. Comments from the public limited to 5 minutes, limited to items on this agenda. No new information. Approval of the minutes from April 14, 2026. Motion - John, 2nd- Sonja, minutes approved. Review Financial Reports: It shows a balance of $18,209.77. Transfer $9,000.00, if we have it left for the Three Graces statue. Approved sign for Library. Annual Election of Officers a. Chairperson -- Ken -- motion to retain -- Emily, 2nd -- Ja Nelle b. Secretary -- motion to elect Chris -- Sonja, 2nd. -- Emily, motion passed. Review of City Ordinances pertaining to the Historic Preservation Commission. Grace stepped down, so now we six members. Discussion / Update regarding status of designation of the Lake Geneva Public Library and a Local Historic Landmark and historic plaque options .It will take two or four weeks for the 16''x12" sign for the Public Library to be made. Museum next Historic Landmark, Sonja made motion, John- second--passed. Also The Riviera -- landmark -- motion --Emily, second-- Ja Nelle , motion passed. Discussion / Update regarding the HPC Website and Historic Walking Tour phone apps. We had discussions about website -- check with City -- working on it. Update regarding Historic Signs. a. Historic Railroad Site. Done, and has been installed. b.Haskins Crawford -Done, and has been installed. c. Lake Geneva Sanitariums - Sonja working on it. Meeting adjourned at 4:53 P.M.
