Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes Wednesday February 18, 2026 5:30pm at Juneau Community Center Recreation Members: Jane Fude, Jennifer White, Kara Erstad, Wendy Jo Smedema, and Jessica Nehls-Rennhack Also Invited: Mayor Wegener, Gail Amsler 1. The meeting was called to order at 5:31 pm and roll call was taken. 2. Approval of the Agenda: Nehls-Rennhack/White to approve the agenda. Motion carried 5-0. 3. Approval of Minutes from Previous Meeting: Erstad/Nehls-Rennhack – motion failed as Kara was not here and did not include amendment to January 23, 20026 minutes. Smedema/White to amend January 23, 2026 minutes to reflect the attendance of Mike and Jacob Matoushek being present at the January 21, 2026 meeting. Motion carried 5-0. 4. Public appearances and citizen comments re: agenda items: None. 5. Update on Program Coordinator Position. Recreation Program Coordinator job description was approved by Personnel on January 27, 2026 and Common Council on February 10, 2026. 6. Review, Discuss, and Possibly Approve Hiring Timeline for Recreation Program Coordinator Position. Internal posting was from February 11, 2026 to February 17, 2026. Posted externally on City and Utility website on February 18, 2026. The committee agreed to add a deadline of Friday, February 27, 2026. Special Recreation Committee meeting to be held on Monday, March 2, 2026 at 5:30 at City Hall. Will review and discuss applications received. Possibly interview candidate(s). Possibly take action/recommendation to Personnel. 7. Update on Basketball Tournament. After reviewing what was taken in at the door and concessions. Will add the sales of remaining concessions minus expenses. It is estimated that both tournaments from January 17, 2026 and January 24, 2025 income is $667.00 All uniforms have been returned and washed. 8. Old Business: None 9. New Business: Easter Egg Hunt will be on Saturday, April 4, 2026 at 10:30 am. Open gym was held on February 16, 2026. Will set date for the following: Candy Bar Bingo, Easter Craft and Spring Break Activities. Dodgeland’s spring break March 30, 2026 to April 3, 2026. St. John’s spring break is March 16, 2026 to March 20, 2026. Will follow up to see if donation of $250.00 was received from Guarantee Title to sponsor a craft. 10. Next meetings: Special Recreation Meeting will be held on Monday, March 2, 2026 at City Hall at 5:30 pm. Next Regular Recreation meeting will be on Wednesday March 18, 2026, at 5:30pm at the Community Center. 11. Adjourn: White/Erstad to adjourn meeting at 6:18 PM.
