Motion was made by Smith and seconded by Martinson to approve the agenda. Motion
carried.
Presentation: Jeff Van Meter, who owns JVM Automotive, was present for the public hearing.
Chair Matthews gave a summary of the business. Van Meter offered input. It is an automobile
repair shop located at 4108 Lynn Hill Road. The automobile shop will provide services to
customers mainly by appointment. The discussions previously had with Van Meter and
Nekoosa Fire Chief Hartje were mentioned. The business will have an annual fire inspection
completed by the Nekoosa Fire Department. There will be a limit of 10 vehicles on the property
that are not self-owned. Vehicles will be moved in and out of the shop area in a timely manner.
Van Meter may choose to expand the business in the future, and this can be addressed when
desired. Fencing may need to be considered in the future. Matthews noted that the Conditional
Use permit would be reviewed annually to assure that guidelines are being followed. The floor
was opened for questions and/or comments. Question was raised regarding
certification/qualifications. This is not a requirement of this business; however, Van Meter
holds a number of automotive-related certifications. Question was raised as to the conditions
set for this business, especially in the matter of oil disposal. The Town Board will set the
conditions. There were no additional comments or questions.
Action: Smith made a motion to recommend the JVM Automotive conditional use permit to
the Town Board at the Monthly meeting following these Public Hearings, with the suggestions
discussed. Martinson seconded the motion, and the motion carried.
Adjourn: Being no other business to conduct, Smith made a motion to adjourn the meeting at
5:48 p.m. and Martinson seconded. All were in favor and the motion carried.
Respectfully submitted,
2
Tracey Draper, Clerk
