were in favor so motion carried.
Bills: O’Donnell made a motion to approve payment of the town bills listed by the clerk.
Motion was seconded by Schmidt and the motion carried with all in favor. Total
disbursements for the month of November were $31,879.65 with total revenues being
$84,618.20.
Treasurer and Clerk Financial Reports: The Treasurer and Clerk reports were
reviewed by the Board. All reports balance. Total Town money as of November 30th,
2024, is $110,467.63. O’Donnell made a motion to accept the reports as delivered.
Schmidt seconded said motion. Motion carried with a 3-0 vote in favor.
Correspondence: Clerk was in receipt of an addendum from the Village of Port
Edwards Fire Department adding first responders’ coverage to the Town’s fire
coverage. The cost would be $3,500 and the first responders will be servicing the same
area as the Village Fire Department does now. Schmidt made a motion to approve the
addendum. O’Donnell seconded said motion. Motion carried with all in favor.
Highway Superintendent Report: The Sterling patrol truck had to go in for repairs to
the wings ram. The seals were replaced and now everything is ready for the upcoming
winter months.
Lot 3 on Bollig Court is still refusing to cooperate with requests to become compliant
with the Town’s setback requirements. Adam would like to turn the matter over to the
board as he has exhausted all possible options with dealing with the owners.
The heater in the shop has an issue that cannot be fixed. The heater’s sequencer went
out and the part is hard to find since furnaces don’t use them anymore. Adam has made
some calls for estimates to replace the furnace. It is still working but will shut down after
running only a few minutes. Thankfully the weather has been mild.
New Business:
2025 Budget: O’Donnell made a motion to approve the 2025 proposed Town budget.
Schmidt seconded the motion and it carried with all voting in favor.
Highway crew: The board discussed what has been done in past years. O’Donnell
made a motion to give Adam a $50 Piggly Wiggly gift card and to give Brian a Piggly
Wiggly gift card for $40. Schmidt seconded the motion and it passed with all in favor.
3
Shop heater: O’Donnell made a motion to purchase a furnace from whoever can do it
cheapest and Schmidt seconded said motion. Motion carried with all in favor.
WTA spring workshops: Moody wants to wait on registering for workshops.
Old Business:
Town Hall accessibility issues: An estimate in the amount of $39,000 was received
from Altman Construction for redoing the approach to the Town Hall.
Plans for January WTA meeting: The speaker will be the Register of Deeds and she
will speak to the subject of how you can lose your house by fraud once it is paid off.
Future Topics: The ramp and its railing at the Community Center are rotted.
Public input:
Is there any news on Plank Hill reopening? The question continued by asking why the
culvert can’t be replaced so the road can be open while the County figures things out?
Unfortunately there has not been any new updates.
Next Scheduled Board Meeting: The next regularly scheduled monthly Town Board
Meeting is set for Monday, January 13th, 2025. The meeting will be called to order at
6:00p.m. in the Port Edwards Town Hall.
Town Caucus: The Town caucus is set for Tuesday, January 14th, 2025, at 6:00p.m. It
will be conducted in the Port Edwards Town Hall.
Adjourn: Being no other business to conduct, O’Donnell made a motion to adjourn the
meeting at 6:53p.m. and Schmidt seconded. All were in favor and the motion carried.
