as allowed by the Town’s Fire Call ordinance.
Highway Superintendent Report: The crew has been working on grading the marsh
roads. Lueneburg had to close County Line Road due to a hole on the approach to the
bridge. Both bridges on County Line Road are scheduled to be replaced in 2027.
New Business:
Comprehensive Plan Ordinance: The clerk added the proper letterhead and put the
necessary signature lines on the sample ordinance to accept the revised
comprehensive plan mailed from NCWRPC. The ordinance contains standard wording
so O’Donnell made a motion to approve the comprehensive plan ordinance and
Schmidt seconded the motion. With no objections, the motion carries.
Utility Permit Applications: WE Energies had submitted two applications to the clerk.
One application was for installation of a residential service at 3612 Lynn Hill Road. The
permit application fee has not yet come in. The second project included service
relocation and is being done on the corner of Lynn Hill Road and South Section Street.

2
Nuisance Ordinance Violations: Clerk has made contact with a prosecuting attorney
recommended by Attorney Flanagan. He is willing to represent the Town in court if
citations are issued. O’Donnell made a motion to accept the new prosecuting attorney
for the Town and Schmidt seconded. All were in favor and the motion carried.
SWCHS Contract: O’Donnell made a motion to enter into the contract with the South
Wood County Humane Society using 2025’s contract as a trial run. Schmidt seconded
the motion and the motion passed. Other arrangements may need to be explored
should the cost of doing business with the SWCHS increase substantially.
Public input: Dustin Lease was in attendance to present the board with a proposal for
providing first responder coverage to the Town. This service, as well as its cost, would
be in addition to the fire coverage the Village of Port Edwards fire department already
provides. The fire department’s proposal was $3,500 for a year. This number was based
on $140 per call the department needs to cover fuel, supplies, and training. The board
will keep the department’s proposal for future reference at this time.
Next Scheduled Board Meeting: The next regularly scheduled Town Board Meeting is
set for Monday, December 9th, 2024. The meeting will begin at 6:00p.m.. The regular
