1 TOWN OF PORT EDWARDS BUDGET PREP BOARD MEETING MINUTES Date: October 15th, 2024 Call to Order: Chairman Randy Moody called the budget prep meeting to order at 6:00p.m. in the Town Hall. The meeting began with the Pledge of Allegiance. Meeting Certification: This meeting has been properly posted (on the Town Hall door, and published on the Town’s website), to notify the public of date, place, time, and agenda. Attendance: Chairman Randy Moody, Supervisors Tim Schmidt and Jeff O’Donnell, Clerk Michelle Sorenson, and Treasurer Kathy Reese. No one from the public was in attendance. Agenda: Prepare 2025 Town budget Adjourn O’Donnell made a motion to approve the agenda. Schmidt seconded and motion carried. Budget Preparation: Budget worksheets were reviewed. The Clerk had inserted the numbers she was given from other agencies that contribute to the Town’s final budget. The Board was taxed with inserting amounts in the remaining blanks. The detailed budget was completed by going line by line. In April, 2025, the board will be up for re-election. Now is the time for the board salaries to be adjusted to take effect in April. It was decided the salaries would be adjusted as follows: chairman will go from $2,400 to $2,800 (16.67%); supervisors will be adjusted from $1,900 to $2,200 (15.79%); the treasurer will be raised to $9,200 (15.00%) from $8,000; and the clerk will go to $16,000 (14.29%) from $14,000. Adjourn: Being no other business to conduct, O’Donnell made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:14p.m. and Schmidt seconded. All were in favor and the motion carried.
