Town of Sherry Regular Board of Supervisors Monthly Meeting Minutes April 16, 2024 The regular Town Board monthly meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Chairman Lang, Supervisor Bean, Supervisor Holtz, Clerk Lobner and Treasurer Haas present. Additions to the Agenda: None. The minutes from the March 12, 2024, Town Board of Supervisors meeting reviewed and approved by a motion by Supervisor Holtz, second by Supervisor Bean. Motion carried. The treasurer’s report was reviewed and approved with a motion by Supervisor Bean, second by Supervisor Holtz. Motion carried. Pay Bills: Bill review completed followed by a motion by Supervisor Bean, second by Supervisor Holtz to pay bills. Await clarification on the Harter Disposal invoice by Holtz. Await clarification on Blenker Sherry Sanitary District delinquent charges. Motion carried. Transfer Funds from Tax Savings to Checking: A motion by Supervisor Holtz, second by Supervisor Bean to transfer $50,000 from tax saving to checking account for bills. Motion carried. County Representative Report: No report. Roaming Dogs: Chairman Lang continues to receive reports of dogs-at-large. Attempts to locate the owner of the animal should be exhausted prior to contacting the Chairman. ATC Open House: Attended by Chairman Lang. No new information on proposed rebuild of transmission line. 2024 Assessment Roll Process: Initial Virtual Open Book May 7, 2024 ,1:00-3:00 p.m. by telephone; with Board of Review on May 14, 2024, 4:30-6:30 p.m. Sherry Town Hall. Roads / Bridges and Road Maintenance: • Data entry of Phase I: Inventory of bridges/culverts completed and forwarded to WTA and Wood County Highway Commissioner, Roland Hawk. • Spring assessment of town roads completed. • Preliminary discussion of road work and road bids. Will need to schedule a bid preparation meeting. Fairview Cemetery: Spring cleanup has begun. Recycling Center Update: • Waste Management contract termed on 3/31/2024. All WM containers have been removed. • Haerter’s Disposal dumpsters delivered. • Continue to use your old solid waste bags as they will be accepted. • New bags in circulation. • Summer Recycling Hours: Wednesdays from May 29 - August 28 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. • Discussion on developing a “Residential Curbside Pickup Survey” to determine if Sherry residents would have an interest in residential curbside pickup of garbage and recyclables. There are approximately 268 residences in Sherry. • Review Draft Recycling Intergovernmental Agreement with Town of Milladore. After minor document changes, a motion by Supervisor Bean, second by Supervisor Holtz to have the Intergovernmental Agreement with Town of Milladore emailed to them for signatures of both copies. Motion carried. 2024 Elections: • Recap of April 2, 2024 Spring Election and Presidential Preference Primary with 475 Registered Eligible Voters, 173 Number Ballots Cast; or 36% Turn Out Rate. • Next election is the August 13, 2024 Primary – Name & address changes will require re-registration. Land Use Coordination Plan Committee Update: Meetings were held on March 20 and April 3 with ongoing review and updates to the initial Plan completed in 2012. The public is encouraged to attend and provide input. Next meetings: April 24, May 22. All meetings will be posted and are at 6:00 p.m., location: Sherry Town Hall. Additions to Agenda: None. Correspondence and Other Updates: • Wood County Unit Meeting of WTA April 19, 2024, Host: Town of Cranmoor • WTA Annual Convention, Holiday Inn Convention Center, Oct 6-8, 2024, in Stevens Point • Sanitary Permit Application reviewed and approved for Adam Freund 7435 County Road HH, Frederick Miller 7988 County Road HH Public Input: Bev Peaslee is coordinating the December 20, 2024, Community Sing! She is requesting use of the town hall. A motion by Supervisor Holtz, second by Supervisor Bean for the rental fee to be waived. Motion carried. Schedule Future Meetings, as required: None.
