Board members present: Chair Ned Ruesch, Supervisor Ron Kozickowski, Clerk Leslianne Ruesch, Treasurer Terri Grassel.
Board members absent: Supervisor Dan Kundinger
The meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance by Chair Ned Ruesch.
The secretary report from the August Meeting was read. A motion was moved by Ned to approve. Seconded by Supervisor Ron Koziczkowski. Motion approved.
The treasurer report was received.
Supervisor Les Holtz from Town of Sherry was in attendance, as was recycling worker Pete Weber to discuss staffing issues at the recycling center. Ned moved this item to the front of the agenda for our guests.
Town of Sherry is currently having issues staffing the recycling center. Pete said he believed the recycling center could run with just one attendant if needed. Town of Sherry will reach out to the attendants as needed and pay accordingly.
Old Business:
The August Partisan Primary went well. The next election will be the November 3, 2026 General Election.
Ron continues to take meet contractors and take quotes for the building addition. He will update us as he gets additional information.
Discussion continued about private culverts. We are asking that anyone replacing or adding a culvert reach out to the board for specifics about minimum size requirements etc. We hope to work with our residents on this matter.
New Business:
The next election will be held on November 3, 2026. Absentee ballots will be sent according to statute to those who request them.
Road Repairs and Concerns:
We continue to grade the roads as weather cooperates. JJ’s will be doing more brushcutting. We have contacted Arborvantage to have some dead trees removed that are a hazard to the roadway.
Clerk Mail:
We received an invoice from City of Marshfield for deceased/uncollected pickups for $2665.71. After contacting their finance department, the clerk was able to have $1291.91 removed that was from an ambulance call to the Village of Milladore. Additionally, a call was made to the WTA legal hotline to discuss the statute of limitations for billing towns. One of these ambulance calls was from 2018, and this is the first we have been notified of that portion of the bill. Our contact states that they will bill us for uncollectable accounts within 6 months. Therefore, the clerk wrote a check for the remaining $993.75 and will send that along with a letter asking for timely billings according to statute.
The clerk has become aware of 2 citizens who have been sent fake voter registrations, or letters telling them they must “re-register” to vote. It is similar to the scam that we saw last year asking some elderly residents to vote via absentee ballot. As a reminder, you can check your voter registration or register to vote at www.myvote.wi.gov. The clerk will never solicit absentee ballots. If you have any questions regarding voting in Milladore you can reach out to the clerk at any time.
There was no public comment.
A motion was moved by Ned to pay bills. Seconded by Ron.
The next Town of Milladore Board of Supervisors meeting will be hold on Sunday, October 4, 2026 at the town hall.
A motion was moved by Ned to adjourn. Seconded by Ron. Meeting adjourned.
