Old Business:
There has still been no response from The Sherry Fire Department to the open records request that was sent to see their finances. The town will continue to pursue this although we are no longer under contract with them due to the large amount of money the municipality has paid them over the course of many years.
The Town of Milladore Board has been appointed as the current Blenker Sherry Sanitary District Commission. This is temporary, and we hope to be able to hand it over to a new commission as soon as possible, once things have been straightened out and following advice from the attorney.
New Business:
A motion was moved by Joel to adopt the 2026 proposed Town of Milladore Budget. Seconded by Ron. Motion carried.
The clerk has obtained all the training hours needed to run elections for the upcoming year. Additionally, 2 poll workers have attended training with the county towards being Chief Inspectors of Elections.
We have sent an additional open records request to The Sherry Volunteer Fire Department asking for copies of all correspondence, ie: letters, emails, etc written to them by DSPS in the last 60 days.
We have sent an email to the Wood County Sheriff Department asking for help enforcing our promissory note with our former treasurer. As of the date of the meeting there were no payments made for September or October.
With help from the attorney, 2 open records requests asking for recordings of meetings were answered. Those records don’t exist. Additionally, the attorney advised there was no compelling statute to record meetings in the future.
At the attorney’s suggestion, a new open records policy is needed. The clerk provided a copy of the suggested policy. A motion was moved by Ron to approve. Seconded by Joel. Motion carried. The clerk will post the policy on the website and post copies at the town hall.
Road Repairs and Concerns:
A truck suiting our needs has been found. We hope to have it here to better look at within the week.
Recycling Center Updates:
Bag sales have greatly increased now that we are enforcing the policy that bags must be purchased to use the dumpsters. This is really helping cut costs for the center.
Clerk Mail:
The post office in Blenker is open and can be accessed by our residents. The Stevens Point Post Office which oversees our district has promised to update us better in the future if they need to close Blenker for any reason.
Public Comment was had.
A motion was moved by Ned to pay bills. Seconded by Joel. Motion carried.
