Planning Commission Meeting Held July 7th 2026 6:00pmMeeting was called to order at 6:00PM by Secretary Chastity AltmanFollowed by the pledge of allegiancePlanning Commission members present: Chastity Altman, Dennis Hall, Dennis Slattery, Chuck Tesnow and Ron Hilgart all presentOthers Present: Tom Nieman, Sandy Nieman, Brad Brehm, Jessica Wasmundt, Mike Schwake, Cindy Pelot, Dick Goodwin, Agenda 1: Elect Planning Commission ChairmanChastity asked for volunteers. Then for nominations. Chastity nominated Ron H. Chuck seconded. Motion passed 4 to 1. Agenda 2: Re-zone to Special Purpose for quarry at Vision Cranberry 4202 Apple Rd Vesper, WI 54489. Request requested by Brad Brehm (BTE, LLC)Discussion about what changed this year from his prior request last year (denied). Brad stated discussions with the county on permitting requirements. Also, that he hired an engineering firm for the reclamation permitting. Discussion about truck routing on a class B town roadway. Brad stated state troopers told him as long as he was hauling a commodity. Statement wasn’t agreed with. Further investigation needed.Discussion of the financial bonding and who is responsible for reclamation if property was sold, abandoned by permit holder, permit holder goes out of business, ect. Brad stated the county would be responsible for the reclamation. Disagreed more research/explanation needed. Volume to be hauled out and what type of product. Brad stated mostly sand and shell rock without giving a volume.If property was sold what happened to the permitting? Brad stated transferable to new operator if plan is less than three years old. New plan and permitting needs if older than three years.Brad was informed if planning commission grants the request that the request still must be granted by the town of Sigel town board and then grated by the wood county town board.
