2025 January Landfill Meeting — Minutes

MINUTES Cranberry Creek Landfill Expansion WASTE SITING COMMITTEE January 24, 2025 WISCONSIN RAPIDS CITY HALL I. Dick Goodwin, Waste Siting Committee Member, called the meeting to order at 10:00AM. II. MEMBERS PRESENT: Lawrie Kobza, Tom Nieman, Dick Goodwin, Larry Scholze, Dean Oilschlager, Matt Zacher. OTHERS PRESENT: Sue Schill, Wisconsin Rapids Attorney, Sandra Nieman, Town of Sigel Clerk, John Bergan, Town of Seneca resident A. Approval of Minutes of Previous Minutes –Kobza made a motion to approve meetings minutes with from the last meeting of August 6, 2024 Zacker seconded. Motion passed. B. Joe Behlen has resigned from this committee as member and chairman. Per Town of Sigel Resolution #022021 dated 4-2-2021, Larry Scholze is the alternate to next replace a member. Mr. Scholze was introduced to the other members. C. Elect Chairperson for Local WM Negotiating Committee – With the resignation of Joe Behlen as Chairman of this committee, Oilschlager made a motion to appoint Lawrie Kobza as chairman, Nieman seconded. Kobza agreed to that appointment. Motion carried. Mr. Bergan addressed members of the committee with his concerns as a local resident. D. Consider response to Waste Management - Goodwin made a motion to go into closed session, Zacker seconded. Motion passed. E. Consider Next Steps in Negotiating with WM – discussed in closed session. F. Adjourn - The meeting was adjourned in closed session.
