Town Board Meeting — Minutes

TOWN BOARD MEETING MINUTES DATE: December 4, 2024 PLACE: Town of Sigel Town Hall TIME: 7:00PM BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman Dick Goodwin, Supervisor Tom Nieman and Supervisor Larry Pelot. 1. Chairman Goodwin called the meeting of the Town Board to order at 7:00PM. There was a Pledge of Allegiance. 2. MINUTES – Clerk, Sandra Nieman read the minutes from the last meeting. Chairman Goodwin asked if there are any additions or corrections to the minutes. There were none. The minutes were approved with unanimous consent. 3. TREASURER’S REPORT – Dawn Larson, Treasurer read the Treasurer’s Report. She reported a balance of $144,152.24 in the general checking account, $107,773.46 in the machinery fund as of November 30, 2024. Goodwin asked if there were any additions or corrections to the report. There were none. The treasurer’s report was approved with unanimous consent. 4. ZONING REPORT - No new permits were issued. 5. AMBULANCE MEETING REPORT - Goodwin attended the United Medical Ambulance meeting and gave a report regarding that meeting. United Medical has hired a full-time mechanic to keep ambulances in good running condition. Drugs/Drug overdoses are a lot of their calls along with picking up people who fall and are unable to get up by themselves. Rates were available for the next 5 years. 6. SET DATE FOR END OF YEAR MEETING - Nieman made a motion to set the year-end meeting for December 30, 2024 at 6:00PM, seconded by Goodwin. Motion carried. 7. CHANGE OF JANUARY BOARD MEETING FROM JANUARY 1(HOLIDAY) - Goodwin made a motion to set the January Board Meeting for January 7, 2025 at 7:00PM, seconded by Pelot. Motion carried. 8. APPROVE UPGRADE TO WEBSITE - Nieman made a motion to upgrade the website, seconded by Pelot. Motion carried. The clerk will contact the website host for this upgrade. 9. APPOINT REPLACEMENT MEMBER OF WM NEGOTIATING COMMITTEE PER RESOLUTION #022021 - Joe Behlen has resigned from the negotiating committee. Resolution #022021 stated that Larry Scholze is the next alternate to fill that position. No motion was made because the resolution covers this appointment. 10. CONSIDER APPROVAL OF CULVERT/DRIVEWAY PERMIT(S) – IF ANY - None. 11. ROAD WORK – Pelot did some grading on town gravel roads. Wood County will do some ditch cleaning and brush cutting this winter. 12. CITIZEN INPUT – The Town of Sherry board members attended the town meeting. They stated that Chris Vetrone at Lundberg/Tenpas Road is having problems with water backing up in his fields. They would like the Sigel Board to look at the situation and see how this could be corrected. Goodwin didn’t have time to talk with Ezequil Holquin and his situation. Zoning/Nuisance ordinance violation notices were mailed out to two violators. Other notices will soon be sent. 13. OPEN AND READ CORRESPONDENCE, IF ANY – Correspondence was opened and read. 14. REVIEW AND APPROVE BILLS FOR PAYMENT - Nieman made a motion to pay the bills, Goodwin seconded. Motion passed. 15. ADJOURN – Motion as made by Goodwin to adjourn, seconded by Pelot at 7:50pm.
