Zoning Committee Meeting — Minutes

Town of Sigel Planning Commission Minutes Meeting held August 27th 2024 Meeting was called to order at 6:00PM by Chairman Tony Spranger Followed by the pledge of allegiance. Tony introduced Commission members Members present: Tony Spranger, Chuck Tesnow, Chastity Altman, Dennis Slattery, Ron Hilgart all present Also present: Dave Straka, John Joling, Kimberly Stimac, Steve Altmann, Sandy Nieman, Mike Schwake, Larry Scholze, Cindy Pelot Agenda: Conditional Use Request for the building of a storage shed for the Vesper Snow Drifters to house the trail equipment. Tony read condition use request form Vesper Snow Drifters and asked if anyone had questions. Chastity asked would this building/property be used for club meeting, fundraising gathers and or club parties? David replied not now but would like to keep that option open. Sandy asked if building would have restrooms/water? David replied No Ron asked why is this a condition use permit and not a zoning permit? Tony explained it is not a zoning change but a condition use for the property zoned as is. Sandy also commented to that point. Question was asked if Vesper Snow Drifters owned the land. David said yes, almost 2 acres, and the building is going to be 40’x60’. Tony asked about accessibility to the building/property? David replied access is through John Joling’s property with an easement recorded with the county. Chuck Tesnow made a motion to approve the condition use request. Dennis Slattery seconded Chastity read approval recommendation emailed letters from Cyrilla Back and Joy Worlund. Unanimous vote to approve. Sandy stated the Town board approval is on the agenda for the Sept 4th board meeting. Snow Drifters were advised to have someone present at that meeting.
