If we’d like to assemble a group to assist with this, let me know. Captain Schaetz Present; No Report EMS Coordinator Calendars are in, we’ll set aside time to teach everyone how to use them. Radar Run Feb 14th – There’s currently lots of helpers signed up, so that will be great! WEMSA is going on Wednesday, February 4th – Saturday, February 7th. Lieutenant Reports Lt. Bork – Not Present; No Report Lt. Pidgeon – Lots of certifications are coming in so that is great to see that training is being completed. Keep up the good work. Reminder that on top of the TIMS training, Hazardous Materials from Illinois Fire Institute must also be completed. Committee Reports Inspections Committee Anchor Bay Inspection has been completed as of January 27th, 2026. They’re due for re-inspection February 27th, 2026 Any businesses that serve alcohol will need to be inspected before May 1st All inspections that are being completed this year must include a pre-plan Association Updates: WI Rapids Charitable Foundation has reached out in regards to fundraising opportunities. We will be looking into future opportunities to support this group. Community Risk Reduction / Public Education No Report Technology Infrastructure No Report Brush Truck Maintenance There is a valve broken so we are unable to draft water at the moment. Please be patient as the truck is going to be fixed in the coming weeks. Professional Development and Education Training Schedule – MSTC (Spring Offerings) Firefighter 1, Firefighter 2 & Fire Inspector are being offered this spring. Chief’s Update All engines have been outfitted SCBA’s had fit testing completed Rennerts will be here on Feb 9th to do DOT testing, if someone would like to be here to help out, that’d be appreciated. Tires for engine 2 will be an issue. We are looking into quotes to replace those. Ladder Testing needs to be scheduled January Payroll report has been completed. Please sign your sheet in the binder. Physicals have been scheduled and are upcoming. Please confirm the date and time. Our ISO Rating has increased. We went from a 5 to a 4. There are 5 single gas CO2 detectors coming in for EMR’s. Please make sure we get those clipped to bags. We are looking at getting the FLIR charger replaced. Signs have been placed around the station saying “No turnout gear beyond this point. Lets get better about not having turnout gear in these places. New radios are ready for service. Extra batteries will be placed in each engine. Alcohol wipes are around to clean off radios after calls. Old Business MSTC Continuing Education Reminder: All personnel must create their MSTC E portal accounts via MSTC.augusoft.net → Village of Biron Fire Dept. → Third-Party Payment. Finance & Budget Budget Planning No Report Training & Department Events Lots of people attending schools right now. Overall, sounds like classes are going well. New Business February 12th, 2026: We are completing Basic Physicals for Firefighter & EMR’s. This is a state requirement. These take 20 min. No blood draw required Every 5th year we will be doing hearing & eye testing. Hep B vaccines will be offered You can accept or decline. Just fill out the form & sign it.
