Meeting Minutes

Regular meeting of the Village Board- August 5, 2024 The Pledge of Allegiance was said. Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Tyson Weiler. Present: Schmutzer, Klassy, Lingford, Stoflet, Bulin, Marten, Weiler, Anderson, and Marth. Absent: Atty. Dietrich. Minutes- Motion Marten/Klassy to approve the minutes from 7/1/24 as listed. Carried. Ron Draxler property on Marshfield Street- Weiler has tried to contact the owners without success. Weiler will contact the attorney for guidance on the process. Motion Schmutzer/Bulin to authorize Weiler to contact the attorney for guidance. If it is recommended to send a certified letter, is authorized to have the attorney draft the letter. Carried. No public comment. Reports- Police officer- none Park Association- the next meeting is Wednesday, August 7, 2024. Fire Department- included in packet. Shelter House- $7,273.83 is remaining in the checking account. June and July have most weekends booked. Youth Baseball- Kayla Dorshorst was present. They would like to have electricity ran to be able to install scoreboards. They are looking for grants. They are a 501 c 3 organization so they can apply for grants on their own. Motion Stoflet/Bulin to authorize the Youth Baseball Program to install a scoreboard and install electricity if grants funds are awarded. The final plan will need to be approved by the Village Board. Carried. Work list projects- ran generators for 6 hours under load, painted lines in parking lot, painted tables and bleachers, patched roads, annual pump maintenance completed, cemetery work, attended wastewater class. Expenses- Motion Stoflet/Marten to approve the expenses as listed. Carried. Financial reports- Motion Anderson/Bulin to approve the financial reports. Carried. Operator license- Motion Stoflet/Marten to approve the operator license for Karen Boyer. Carried. Operator position interviews- Weiler will set up a date/time for the interviews with the candidates. Budget meeting for planning 2025 budget- September 11, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. Fire Department update on self-contained breathing apparatus equipment- Motion Schmutzer/Marten to approve up to $8,000 toward the purchase of SCBAs.
