Meeting Minutes

Regular meeting of the Village Board- November 6, 2023 The Pledge of Allegiance was said. Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Tyson Weiler. Present: Lingford, Curtin, Anderson, Bulin, Marten, Stoflet, Weiler, Marth and Schmutzer. Absent: Atty. Dietrich. Budget Hearing 2024- There was no public input. Lingford provided a general overview of the proposed budget. Minutes- Motion Stoflet/Marten to approve the minutes from 10/2/23 as listed. Carried. Reports: Police officer- Gonzalez monitored park and cemetery. He gave 8 verbal warnings for speeding. He retrieved two illegally dumped tires. He addressed concerns related to loud noises. He ran background checks. Park Association- Santa in the Park will be December 2, 2023. $100,000 in donations have been received for playground equipment. Construction is expected to being in August 2024. Fire Department- Minutes were in the packet. Shelter house- not available. Work list projects - sewer ponds were discharged today, salt was delivered on Thursday, they are preparing for winter and will be hanging Christmas lights this week. Alert system - the board watched a video on GOGOV. This is an alert system that is application based. We may send out a post card to residents to get their input if they would use this alert system. Fee schedule- tabled until next month. TID developer payment- Tyson and Tyler met with Fritz Schierl. We received a quote to repair the lawn the quote was from Blades for $3 313.00. Fritz sent an email saying he would guarantee the lawn repairs payment. Motion Schmutzer/Marten upon receipt of Fritz Schierl’s signature agreeing to repair the lawn, the village will issue the TIF developer payment. Carried. Facebook page- no action at this time. Sewer line repair- tabled. Ambulance contract- Motion Stoflet/Marten to approve the ambulance contract with the City of Marshfield for $25,283. Carried. Budget and mill rate - Motion Marten/Schmutzer to approve the 2024 budget and set the local levy at $152,028. Carried. Operator licenses- Motion Stoflet/Marten to approve the operator licenses for Nicole Miller, Tyler Hastings and Tessa Cargola. Carried. Town-Village agreement for services-tabled. Humane Society contract- Motion Stoflet/Curtin to approve the contract with South Wood County Humane Society $105 pickup and $71 drop off. Carried. Santa in the Park - Motion Schmutzer/Anderson to donate $300 toward Santa in the Park. Carried. Expenses- Motion Marten/Schmutzer to approve the expenses as listed. Carried. Financial reports - Motion Schmutzer/Marten to approve the financial reports as listed. Carried. Motion Marten/Curtin to adjourn at 9:10 p.m. Carried. Lynn Lingford, clerk
