A Representative from CBS Squared, Inc. explained that the Wastewater Treatment
Plant went through some upgrades in 2009, however, the sludge handling equipment
was not upgraded. This equipment is one of the oldest pieces of equipment at the
WWTP and it is difficult to find replacement parts. He further explained that five
different alternatives were reviewed from the fiscal and environmental perspective.
These alternatives were presented to the Village Board. CBS Squared, Inc
recommended the Village move forward with replacing the existing equipment with a
rotary fan press, which is the best option and would work well with the existing
equipment. The CBS Representative further discussed a revolving fund from the DNR to
assist the Village with funding the project that provides a reduced market rate loan.
The total loan would be in the amount of $694,000 for the project with a completion
date in the fall of 2027.
5. Motion by Trustee Stroik, seconded by Trustee Lasecki to close the Public Hearing.
Motion carried by voice vote. Questions ensued from the Village Board regarding the
life expectancy of the existing and new equipment.
