Village of Whiting Village Board Minutes Village of Whiting Municipal Center 3600 Water St., Stevens Point WI 54481is Thursday, March 19, 2026 – 6:00 p.m. 1. Roll Call: Meeting was called to order by President Bill Taugner at 6:00pm. Present were President Bill Taugner, Trustees Karen Curtis, Kurt Glenzer, Mike Kaczmarek, John Koutre, Ben Lasecki. Trustee Kevin Lutz was excused. Also in attendance were several Village residents. 2. Pledge of Allegiance was recited. 3. Motion by Glenzer, seconded by Koutre to enter closed session pursuant to Section 19.85(1)(c); Wis. Statutes for the purpose of considering employment, promotion, compensation, or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the government body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility. With the purpose being to fill the Utilities Operator vacancy. Motion carried by unanimous roll call vote. 4. Motion by Koutre, seconded by Glenzer to reconvene in open session. Motion carried unanimously. 5. Motion by Koutre, seconded by Glenzer to extend the offer to hire for the open Utilities Operator at $26.00/hr. Motion carried unanimously by roll call vote. 6. Motion by Curtis, seconded by Lasecki to enter closed session pursuant to Section 19.85(1)(c); Wis. Statutes for the purpose of considering employment, promotion, compensation, or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the government body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility. With the purpose being to hire temporary office staff. Motion carried by unanimous roll call vote. 7. Motion by Koutre, seconded by Kaczmarek to reconvene in open session. Motion carried unanimously. 8. Motion by Glenzer, seconded by Curtis to hire a temporary part time staff member to work under the direction of the Clerk/Treasurer, at an hourly rate of pay to be determined by the Village President. Motion carried by unanimous roll call vote. 9. Motion by Glenzer, seconded by Lasecki to adjourn. Motion carried unanimously at 7:10pm.
