VILLAGE OF NELSONVILLE VILLAGE BOARD MEETING MINUTES Via Zoom Meeting Tuesday 7/13/21 6pm UNAPPROVED MINUTES The meeting was called to order by President Josh Stolzenburg. Present at the meeting were: President Josh Stolzenburg, Trustee Mark Brueggeman, Trustee Walter Leppen and Clerk/Treasurer Daniel Bootz. Citizens present: Mark Pearson, Meeting was called to order. M/S, Leppen/Brueggeman move to approve the June Board minutes, all in favor, motion carried. Treasurer’s report submitted by Clerk/Treasurer Daniel Bootz. M/S, Leppen/Brueggeman, move to pay the bills as presented by Clerk/Treasurer Daniel Bootz, all in favor, motion carried. Correspondence was reviewed. Public Statements – Mark Pearson – Appreciated the return to in-person meeting. Updates: 1. Tree Removal - Still pending. Contractor was contacted, but did not hear back. Leppen will discuss getting a quote with another contractor that will be doing other work in the village. 2. Fire Siren – Quotes for repairing and replacing the siren were reviewed. The cost of repairing the siren was quoted at approximately $5800 and replacement would be about $10,600. Board agreed to pursue other options. 3. Welton Drive Re-pavement – Diamond would not be able to contribute to the cost of replacement, but would be able to assist with grading the road once it was paved. Leppen will follow up on the cost savings possible with Diamond doing this aspect of the work. Leppen will also ask about a quote for the end of Jerome and Third Street. Discussion/Action – 1. Village Hall next steps a. Board discussed current option being considered and options for presenting them to residents. b. Sobek will be asked to create renderings of the options to provide a better sense of how the Village Hall would fit into the community. c. Once rendering is completed, this will be distributed and available to be reviewed by residents. 2. August meeting Date and location i. August Meeting will be on August 17th (Third Tuesday) at 6pm. ii. Rising Star Mill will be asked to host again, if possible. M/S Leppen/Brueggeman to approve $445 from the Park Fund to purchase mulch for the sanctuary, all in favor, motion carried. Information: GCAC – No updates Water – July testing will be taking place over the next week. Park – Subcommittee has started looking at options for upgrading the village park and playground. Fire – Has purchased additional equipment and first responders have participated in various trainings Planning – Meetings will be restarted to discuss use of ARPA funds.
