VILLAGE OF NELSONVILLE BOARD MEETING MINUTES Tuesday 1/13/2025 6pm APPROVED MINUTES The meeting was called to order by President Judah Haas Present at the meeting were: President Judah Haas, Trustee Walter Leppen, Trustee Mark Brueggeman, and Clerk/Treasurer Daniel Bootz. Citizens Present: Rubina Martini, Mark Pearson Village Board Meeting M/S, Leppen/Brueggeman moved to approve November board minutes; all in favor, and the motion was carried. Treasurer’s report submitted by Clerk/Treasurer Daniel Bootz. M/S, Leppen/Brueggeman move to pay bills as presented by Clerk/Treasurer, Daniel Bootz, all in favor. Correspondence was reviewed - Harter's letter was reviewed. Public Questions and Comments ● Martini mentioned that a resident is interested in cleaning the Village Hall. New Business and Possible Decisions ● Village Hall Sign - Judah will pick up the sign later this month. ● M/S Leppen/Brueggeman to establish a special project fund with the Portage County Foundation, all in favor, motion carried ● M/S Haas/Brueggeman to adopt the Portage County Non-metallic mining ordinance, all in favor, motion carried. Previous Business ● Leppen to League of Wisconsin Municipalities regarding possible issuance of liquor licenses. They advised that the municipality could approve a license for the sale of beer, but the Village is limited in its ability to license the sale of liquor and wine. ● Village Caucus is scheduled for 1/14/25. Information – 1. GCAC Update – No updates. 2. Groundwater Committee - Additional Water Testing results were received by the Village. Quarterly water testing was completed on 1/11/25. 3. Park Committee - Looking for an additional park committee member. There will be another meeting at the end of January. The committee is determining the initial cost of equipment. 4. Fire Commission – Possible meeting on 1/20/25. The fire department is starting to use the new ambulance. 5. Planning Commission— Reviewed Portage County non-metallic mining ordinance. Starting to review zoning ordinances and maps. 6. LRIP – No updates Adjournment 7:00 pm
