VILLAGE OF NELSONVILLE VILLAGE BOARD MEETING MINUTES Tuesday 1.10.23 6pm APPROVED MINUTES Meeting was called to order by President Josh Stolzenburg Present at the meeting were: President Josh Stolzenburg, Trustee Mark Brueggeman, Trustee Walter Leppen and Clerk/Treasurer Daniel Bootz. Citizens present: Cheryl Hucke, Mark Pearson, Jay Gordon, Lois Brueggeman, Judah Haas, Jim Walker Caucus was called to order by President Josh Stozlenburg Wally presiding over Caucus. For the office the President: Pearson nominated Judah Haas for President with Cheryl Hucke seconding No other nominations were made. Judah Haas will appear on the April ballot for the office of Village President. For the office the Trustee: Josh Stolzenburg nominated Mark Brueggeman with Daniel Bootz seconding Judah Haas nominated Mark Pearson with Jay Gordon seconding. No other nominations were made. Mark Brueggeman and Mark Pearson will appear on the April ballot for the office of Village Trustee. Leppen moved to adjourn, Stozenburg seconded. Meeting Adjou rned at 6:05pm Board Meeting: M/S, Bruggeman/Leppen move to approve December Board minutes, all in favor, motion carried. Treasurer’s report submitted by Clerk/Treasurer Daniel Bootz. M/S, Leppen/Brueggeman move to pay the bills as presented by Clerk/Treasurer, Daniel Bootz, all in favor, motion carried. Public Statements: Mark Pearson – Asked for additional details on the resolution being considered by the board. Jim Walker – Spoke in support of Nelsonville joining the Portage County Animal Con trol group. Mark Pearson – Spoke on the history of Animal Control in the Village. Discussion Items: Consideration of Resolution 2023-1-10 – Stolzenburg presented the resolution which would put to vote the ability of the village to raise the municipal levy to fund a Park and Maintenance employee. M/S Stolzenburg/Bruggeman to approve resolution 2023-1-10, all-in-favor, motion carried Portage County Animal Control Group – Cost of joining the Portage County Animal Control Group should be ready to present to the Board at the February Board Meeting.
