1. The meeting was called to order at 6:00 pm by Chairperson Drexler. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
2. Minutes from the May 13, 2026, Town Board Meeting were read. Brenda Kochanowski suggested to amend item
10 on the minutes as follows: change “renting the hall” to “using the hall” and remove “ No record of this tradition
was previously found. ”
Motion by Supervisor Trelka to approve the minutes as read with the stated correction on item 10. Seconded
by Supervisor Erickson.
3 ayes (Supervisor Erickson, Supervisor Trelka, Chairperson Drexler) / 0 nays. Motion carried.
Minutes from the May 18, 2026, Special Town Board Meeting were read.
Motion by Supervisor Trelka to approve the minutes. Seconded by Supervisor Erickson.
3 ayes (Supervisor Erickson, Supervisor Trelka, Chairperson Drexler) / 0 nays. Motion carried.
3. Chairperson Drexler moved to place the Treasurer’s report on file.
4. The following Plan Commission items were mentioned: new dwelling at 3299 County Road G, subdivision
permit to combine lots at 4536 State Highway 34, and a camper on River Road lot.
5. Discussion first occurred over the current hall rental policy to allow non-profit organizations to rent the hall for
free. Consideration was given to the cleaning, maintenance, and utility costs for every hall rental and the potential
misuse of the undefined free rental option. Casey Kochanowski suggested that the Town discontinue renting to
non-profits. Supervisor Trelka recognized that the Runkel Cemetery non-profit is a different entity, because if they
stop caring for the cemetery (which is located within the township) the Town will have to invest its resources into
caring for it. Supervisor Erickson recommended that every organization or individual interested in renting the hall
be required to pay the rental fee and further suggested that the Town could make an annual donation to the Runkel
Cemetery non-profit to compensate them for their annual rental fee in appreciation for their management of the
cemetery.
Motion by Chairperson Drexler to eliminate the free rental option for nonprofit organizations and continue
to charge Town of Eau Pleine residents $50 per day and nonresidents $100 per day. Seconded by Supervisor
Erickson.
3 ayes (Supervisor Erickson, Supervisor Trelka, Chairperson Drexler) / 0 nays. Motion carried.
Secondly, the current hall rental agreement was compared to a draft version of a new hall rental agreement modified
from a homeowner association rental agreement submitted by Jeff Stashek. The Board requested that the new
agreement be reviewed and revised by a Wisconsin Towns Association lawyer and brought back to the Board for
final approval at the next monthly meeting.
6. The Runkel Cemetery annual hall rental was discussed during the previous agenda item, and because the free
nonprofit option was eliminated, this nonprofit will be required to sign the rental agreement and pay the $50
resident rental fee.
7. The existing printer in the office has been occasionally misprinting checks for at least the past year, which has
prevented some check recipients from depositing their checks through mobile deposit. Clerk Martin requested her
choice for a new printer, which was $570. Supervisor Trelka stated that this is a cost to doing business so it must be
purchased.
Motion by Supervisor Trelka to buy the new printer. Seconded by Supervisor Erickson.
3 ayes (Supervisor Erickson, Supervisor Trelka, Chairperson Drexler) / 0 nays. Motion carried.

8. Next week Tuesday at 9:30 AM all Town employees will attend safety training. A smart TV was purchased for
$200 to show the free training videos provided by the Town’s insurance company, Rural Mutual. The hearing test is
expensive, so Chairperson Drexler proposed that the Town buy a much quieter, electric chainsaw to replace the gas
chainsaw that the Town employees use. OSHA outlines the potential to cause hearing loss at 130 decibels over a
quarter hour, and the only exposure to this level for Town employees would be in using the gas powered chainsaw.
The free fire protection training will be run by the Rudolph Fire Department, and the date of this training is yet to
be determined.
Motion by Chairperson Drexler to purchase a Milwaukee battery powered chainsaw and batteries to replace
the gas chainsaw. Seconded by Supervisor Erickson.
3 ayes (Supervisor Erickson, Supervisor Trelka, Chairperson Drexler) / 0 nays. Motion carried.
After further discussion about additional gas powered equipment (3 chain saws, pole saw, concrete cutter) used by
Town employees, the Board realized the cost for the hearing test will be less than purchasing all new battery
powered equipment. Chairperson Drexler will further research hearing test options for a more affordable option.
Motion by Chairperson Drexler to rescind the previous motion on purchasing a new chainsaw and instead
research the hearing test further. Seconded by Supervisor Erickson.
3 ayes (Supervisor Erickson, Supervisor Trelka, Chairperson Drexler) / 0 nays. Motion carried.
9. The tractor loan is paid off. Chairperson Drexler raised the issue of increasing road repair costs and the need for
funding. This agenda item will be tabled until a future Board meeting.
10. Announcements and Dates to Remember:
a. The dust suppression materials have been held up at the border, which has delayed the start of application.
b. The internet tower has finally been removed from behind the Town Hall without a lawyer cost.
c. There was a previous PFAS presentation request by a resident for town meetings; Chairperson Drexler does
not want to run presentations during town meetings to keep them brief and focused on discernable Town
issues.
d. There will be a Local Disaster Plan meeting soon to create a local emergency response plan for the Town.
e. Transportation money may be coming from the state from the budget surplus.
f. Supervisor Trelka requested from the Town Road Supervisor, Roy Skrzeczkoski, a list of items needed to
be purchased for the shop to prevent Town employees from using their personal equipment for Town use.
g. Supervisor Trelka has a successful grant writer contact for the Town to apply for the ARIP grant in the
future.
h. Clerk Martin shared that Marge Polum donated her time, plants, and planters outside the town hall building.
i. The next Town Board Meeting is July 8, 2026, at 6:00 PM
