March 11, 2026 - Town of Eau Pleine Board Meeting Minutes - APPROVED Attendance Elected Officials Present: Chairperson Kurt Drexler, Supervisor Wayne Trelka, Supervisor Leif Erickson, Clerk Stacy Martin Elected Officials Excused: Treasurer Sue Stroik Others Present: Mary Erickson, Kathy Metzler, Les Metzler, Roger Dobbs, Karen Dobbs, Dave Erickson, Bonnie Fredrickson, Mark Fredrickson, Scott Jirschele (Phoenix Express LLC), Pete Albert, Gary Egan 1. The meeting was called to order at 6:00 pm by Chairperson Drexler. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. 2. Minutes from the February 11, 2026, Town Board Meeting were read. Motion by Supervisor Erickson to approve the minutes. Seconded by Chairperson Drexler. 3 ayes (Supervisor Erickson, Supervisor Trelka, Chairperson Drexler) / 0 nays. Motion carried. 3. Supervisor Trelka noted an addition error for the February ending balance, which should be $84,119.73. Chairperson Drexler moved to place the Treasurer’s report on file after the correction. 4. There were no Plan Commission items. 5. The 2026 budget must be amended to include the carryover money from 2025 prior to auditing the books on March 14, 2026. Motion by Chairperson Drexler to carry $31,134.63 from 2025 onto the 2026 budget. Seconded by Supervisor Erickson. 3 ayes (Supervisor Erickson, Supervisor Trelka, Chairperson Drexler) / 0 nays. Motion carried. 6. Chairperson Drexler opened sealed bids for road materials: Motion by Supervisor Trelka to accept the bid from Kafka Road Materials LLC for 1/2" crushed blue rock delivered to both the town hall stockpile and town roads for $13.40 per ton. Seconded by Supervisor Erickson. 3 ayes (Supervisor Erickson, Supervisor Trelka, Chairperson Drexler) / 0 nays. Motion carried. Motion by Supervisor Trelka to accept the bid from Phoenix Express LLC for 3/4" crushed blue rock delivered to the town hall stockpile for $11.74 per ton. Seconded by Chairperson Drexler. 3 ayes (Supervisor Erickson, Supervisor Trelka, Chairperson Drexler) / 0 nays. Motion carried. Motion by Supervisor Trelka to accept the bid from Pete Albert Services LLC for 3/4" crushed blue rock delivered to the town roads for $11.75 per ton. Seconded by Supervisor Erickson. 3 ayes (Supervisor Erickson, Supervisor Trelka, Chairperson Drexler) / 0 nays. Motion carried. Motion by Supervisor Trelka to accept the bid from Pete Albert Services LLC for crushed granite delivered to the town hall stockpile for $10.35 per yard. Seconded by Supervisor Erickson. 3 ayes (Supervisor Erickson, Supervisor Trelka, Chairperson Drexler) / 0 nays. Motion carried. Motion by Supervisor Trelka to accept the bid from Kafka Road Materials LLC for crushed granite delivered to the town roads for $10.72 per yard. Seconded by Supervisor Erickson. 3 ayes (Supervisor Erickson, Supervisor Trelka, Chairperson Drexler) / 0 nays. Motion carried. Chairperson Drexler opened sealed bids for excavating: Motion by Supervisor Trelka to accept the bid from Badger State Screening and Services LLC for excavating services for $145 per hour with operator and $95 per hour for additional labor. Seconded by Supervisor Erickson. 3 ayes (Supervisor Erickson, Supervisor Trelka, Chairperson Drexler) / 0 nays. Motion carried. 7. Chairperson Drexler provided this update on the Lake Road culvert replacement project: The project is on hold because the contractor is concerned with the dewatering equipment freezing. Their plan now is to complete the work after July 4, 2026. 8. Announcements and Dates to Remember: a. Town Board Meeting to audit financial records is March 14, 2026, at 8:00 AM b. Town Board Meeting is April 8, 2026, at 6:00 PM c. Annual Town Meeting is April 21, 2026, at 6:00 PM 9. After hearing questions and concerns from the public – Motion by Chairperson Drexler to pay bills and adjourn.
