February 11, 2026 - Town of Eau Pleine Board Meeting - APPROVED Attendance Elected Officials Present: Chairperson Kurt Drexler, Supervisor Wayne Trelka, Supervisor Leif Erickson, Clerk Stacy Martin, Treasurer Sue Stroik Others Present: Bill Kiggins, Mary Erickson, Jeff Stashek, Larry Raikowski, Roger Skrzeczkoski, Kathy Metzler, Roger Dobbs, Karen Dobbs, Dave Erickson, Bonnie Fredrickson, Mark Fredrickson 1. The meeting was called to order at 6:00 pm by Chairperson Drexler. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. 2. Minutes from the January 14, 2026, Town Board Meeting were read. Motion by Chairperson Drexler to approve the minutes. Seconded by Supervisor Erickson. 3 ayes (Supervisor Erickson, Supervisor Trelka, Chairperson Drexler) / 0 nays. Motion carried. 3. Chairperson Drexler moved to place the Treasurer’s report on file. 4. The Plan Commission met prior to this Board meeting and discussed the Portage County Wellhead Protection Ordinance Amendment and associated public hearing. The February 24, 2026, public hearing notice is currently posted on the bulletin board at the town hall and will be posted to the Town website after this meeting: https://townofeaupleine.com/ . 5. Chairperson Drexler announced that the Plan Commission, which met prior to this Board meeting, approved the following rezoning request at 3165 Victory Road in Junction City: Scott Brown proposes to split approximately three acres, which includes the house, from the 40-acre parcel number 016250628-06; the three acres would be rezoned to A4 General Agriculture, with the remaining acreage staying in A1 zoning. Portage County Planning and Zoning had previously determined that there is no ordinance against the proposal. There were no concerns or opposition from the Plan Commission members nor the neighbors in attendance. Motion by Chairperson Drexler to approve rezoning request for parcel number 016250628-06 for the splitting of approximately three acres, which includes the house, from the above referenced 40-acre parcel. Seconded by Supervisor Erickson. 3 ayes (Supervisor Erickson, Supervisor Trelka, Chairperson Drexler) / 0 nays. Motion carried. 6. The Town will begin taking bids for excavating and road materials; letters will be sent out to vendors. Sealed bids will be accepted until the start of next month’s Board meeting at 5:00 PM on March 11, 2026. Bids will be opened on March 11, 2026, at 6:00 PM. 7. Supervisor Erickson informed the Board that a town resident would like to plant flowers outside the town hall. The Board unanimously agreed that this would be allowed. The Town will set a budget of $200 for landscaping. 8. Supervisor Erickson notified the Board that they must amend the budget for carryover money prior to auditing the books. The Board set the date for the year-end audit of the Town’s financial records: March 14, 2026, at 8:00 AM. 9. No bids for an old metal desk inside the town hall were received since the last Board meeting so the desk will be disposed of. 10. Announcements and Dates to Remember: a. Next Town Board Meeting is March 11, 2026 at 6:00 PM b. Annual Town Meeting is April 21, 2026 at 6:00 PM 11. After hearing questions and concerns from the public – Motion by Supervisor Erickson to pay bills and adjourn.
