responsible for receiving and accepting bids; lowest bid must be accepted; the Town will pay the contractors; Portage County will
repay the Town within a month from the Town’s payments to contractors. Total project cost for the Town to pay to the contractors is

Subject: Lake Road Culvert Replacement
Good Morning Kurt,
I wanted to provide an update about the Lake Road project, it is still intended to move forward and go to bid in December.
As a way of saving a month of time, we were thinking the County will put together all bid documents for plans and specifications and
the Town would put it out to bid and select the Contractor. The Town would then hold the contract and apply for reimbursement to
the County for the 50/50 Bridge/Culvert Aid share (which we would reimburse promptly). The County would also move ahead and
order the pipe and have it delivered to the Town garage so it would save some time and money from a contractor not marking up the
pipe.
Additionally, the County adds an additional 4.3% which is for records and reports. This would not be the case if the Town bids and
awards the contract for this.
Let me know if there are any major concerns with the this potential route.
Thanks,
Lucas
