November 12, 2025 - Town of Eau Pleine Proposed 2026 Budget Public Hearing & Special Town Meeting of Electors - APPROVED Attendance Elected Officials Present: Chairperson Kurt Drexler, Supervisor Wayne Trelka, Supervisor Leif Erickson, Clerk Stacy Martin, Treasurer Sue Stroik Others Present: Roger Skrzeczkoski Sr., Susan Skrzeczkoski, Jeff Stashek, Larry Raikowski, Carrie Drexler, Brian Beaulieu, Mary Erickson, Bill Kiggins, Roger Dobbs, Karen Dobbs, Joe Kawlewski, Dave Erickson, Jeff Stroik, Les Metzler, Kathy Metzler The meeting was called to order at 5:40pm by Chairperson Drexler. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. 1. The town board asked the town electors to consider the adoption of Resolution No. 2025-04 endorsing town board Resolution No. 2025-03, which proposes that the town levy exceed the state allowable levy limit under Wis. Stat. § 66.0602, specifically a proposed tax levy which would exceed the allowable town tax levy for 2025, after adjustments, by 19.72% , for a dollar increase of $50,000 . Motion by Susan Skrzeczkoski that the Town of Eau Pleine can exceed the tax levy as specified in Resolution No. 2025-03. Seconded by Roger Skrzeczkoski. 9 ayes / 2 nays / 1 abstain. Motion carried. Resolution No. 2025-04 was adopted by the majority vote of electors and signed by Chairperson Drexler and Clerk Martin. 2. The town board asked the town electors to consider increasing the mileage reimbursement rate for elected officials to continually match the IRS rate. Motion by Supervisor Erickson to increase the mileage rate for Town employees to continually match the IRS rate, effective January 1, 2026. Seconded by Chairperson Drexler. 3 ayes (Supervisor Erickson, Supervisor Trelka, Chairperson Drexler) / 0 nays. Motion carried. Motion by Susan Skrzeczkoski that the mileage rate for the Town Board elected officials continually match the IRS rate, effective January 1, 2026. Seconded by Carrie Drexler. 9 ayes / 1 nays / 5 abstain. Motion carried. 3. The town board asked the town electors to approve the 2026 total public works (highway) expenditures, pursuant to Wis. Stat. § 82.03. Motion by Susan Skrzeczkoski to approve the proposed 2026 total public works (highway) expenditures of $269,616. Seconded by Roger Skrzeczkoski. 14 ayes / 0 nays / 1 abstain. Motion carried. 4. The town board asked the town electors to approve the 2025 total town tax levy (to be collected in 2026), pursuant to Wis. Stat. § 60.10(1)(a). Motion by Susan Skrzeczkoski to approve the 2025 total town tax levy (property taxes) of $303,525 to be collected in 2026. Seconded by Roger Skrzeczkoski. 12 ayes / 1 nays / 2 abstain. Motion carried. Motion by Chairperson Drexler to pay bills and adjourn. Seconded by Supervisor Trelka. 3 ayes (Supervisor Erickson, Supervisor Trelka, Chairperson Drexler) / 0 nays. Motion carried.
