The lower level restrooms are open from 6:30pm-9:30pm during Wednesday and Friday night concerts put on by the Legion or Buddy’s Bungalow in addition with the restrooms located in the bandshell and the ones located on the back of the concession building are open everyday from 5am-11:30pm. L. Kowieski asked if the restrooms are closed for a reason a sign be put up to let patrons know. 5) Discussion and Review on Signage at Boat Launch a) E. Boettcher presented images of the current signage at the boat launch. There are currently 5 18”x24” Red signs that state a Daily Launch fee is Required. This includes a QR code and a “Failure to pay will result in a violation notice”. There are also 2 signs that state “Fee Zone beyond this point Violators will be ticketed” near where the concrete begins. Along with a big and long Red Sign at the launch itself below the rules that state the same as the other 5 throughout the lot. M. Sewell reported as of today there have been over 1,300 drive thru patrons since the beginning of March and approximately 256 violations issued in the 2026 season. Some of the violations issued have been cancelled due to patron providing proof of payment with errors in entering their license plates incorrectly at the kiosk. Approximately 33 have been passed on to the Police Department for Citation issuance. L. Kowieski suggested adding an additional sign to the launch to try and deter patrons from driving through the launch. L. Kowieski also mentioned doing an educational social media post of the Launch to make people aware. The department will work on getting something put together and posted. 6) Consider and Act on Archery Park a) E. Boettcher presented the locations that were thought of great locations being either near the Nature Hills by the walking paths or in the green along Parkview Dr. After further discussion after getting some calls after the Mayor and I were out there, we thought it was a high visible area and wouldn’t be the best spot. We recently looked at the area by Champion Park behind the Parks and DPW Shop. We will eventually put in a path and a small parking lot and turnaround. This is a great location as there is space to do a few different lanes for shooting. fencing and a wetland behind so there wouldn’t be anyone walking around there. John Suttner has donated the dirt to create a 11 foot mound for a back stop. We have partnered with Friends of Parks and Trails, Whales Tales for the donation of the targets, and our Department will be working on this. This is a great project to have up and running late August/Early September. Only Recurve, Compound, Longbow, self-bows allowed Cross Bows will not be allowed. Discussion of partnering with the scouts groups or schools to build some stands to hold equipment. Karen & Bill Millican from USA Archery were present and are excited to be working with the City on this project. C. Brown motions to approve site along with the donations from Whales Tales and John Suttner. Second by A. Welch. No Opposition. Motion Carried. 7) Consider and Act on Concrete Bag Toss Game Set for Fowler and Roosevelt Parks a) E. Boettcher presented the 2 locations of where the Bag Toss will be placed at Roosevelt and Fowler parks. They are concrete and approximately 600 lbs. each. There will be holders of the bags at each location similar to little library’s for books. The cost is about $1,300 per set and Friends of Parks and Trails and Visit Oconomowoc will be funding this project with zero cost to the Parks Department. Looking to install this fall or Early spring. A Welch moved to approve the install of the Bag Toss Games Second by S. Antonneau. 7 in favor and 1 opposition by L. Kowieski. The Small dog area will have a restriction to dogs 30 lbs. or less while the Big dog yard is open to all sizes and breeds. All dogs are welcome in either area as long as they’re well behaved and are within the weight restrictions as posted. Froemming Community Center Report – August 2026 August was a busy month at the Oconomowoc Community Center, with a variety of events bringing families, community groups, and local organizations through the facility. The OCC hosted six weddings - check out Cate & Sam’s gorgeous photos below. It is incredible to see how the Upper Hall transforms each weekend reflecting the tastes and styles of each wedding couple. We also hosted one graduation party, one baby shower, three bridal showers, and three birthday parties. These events provided a range of opportunities for families and guests to gather and celebrate important milestones. The Community Center also hosted several meetings throughout the month. The Legion Band, local veterans, the Chamber of Commerce and our city staff held a meeting to plan the 9/11 Memorial on the Village Green. Local Homeowners Associations like our neighbors to the east, Parc Condos, enjoy using our space for their meetings. Waukesha County finds our Meeting Room useful for getting offsite to collaborate. We also welcomed Kwik Trip for two corporate meetings during August. It is wonderful to see how the space can adapt to the needs of every renter. Summer might be winding down but the Community will be busy all fall with more weddings, showers, meetings, and celebrations.
