Board Meeting June — Minutes

June 27, 2024 Mitigation Planning - APPROVED Board Members Present: Roger Skrzeczkoski Sr, Leif Erickson, Wayne Trelka, Sue Skrzeczkoski, Sue Stroik-Excused Others Present: Bob Weinert; Emergency Management Coordinator, Peter Mallek; Village of Junction City President The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Skrzeczkoski. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Bob Weinert gave an overview of the Portage County All Hazard Mitigation Plan. The last plan was outsourced and completed in 2020. Current plan will expire August 16, 2025. the plan will allows agencies to apply for pre- and post- disaster mitigation grant funding. By having the Town participate in the County plan, we than could be eligible for Federal Emergency Management Agency grant opportunities. Motion by Supervisor Erickson to opt in to making a partnership for the updating of the Portage County All Hazard Mitigation Plan. Seconded by Supervisor Trelka. Motion carried 3 ayes, 0 nays. Supervisor Erickson and Supervisor Trelka will take the lead in identifying y risks and vulnerabilities associated with natural disasters within the Town and develop long-term plans and strategies to mitigate the risk to people and property within the Town of Eau Pleine.
