Board Meeting June — Minutes

June 12, 2024 Monthly Town Board Meeting - APPROVED Board Members Present: Roger Skrzeczkoski Sr, Leif Erickson, Wayne Trelka, Sue Skrzeczkoski, Sue Stroik-Excused Others Present: Bill Kiggins, Marlene Furo, Mary Erickson, Bonnie & Mark Fredrickson, Kathy Metzler, Roger & Karen Dobbs, Dave Erickson The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Skrzeczkoski. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Minutes from the May 8th monthly meeting were read. Supervisor Trelka suggested that the acronym P&Z be corrected to Planning & Zoning. Motion by Supervisor Erickson to accept the minutes with suggested corrections. Seconded by Chairperson Skrzeczkoski. Motion carried 3 ayes, 0 nays. Minutes from the May 16th Board of Review (BOR) meeting were read. The acronym for Board of Review will be spelled out in the minutes. Motion by Chairperson Skrzeczkoski to accept the minutes with corrections. Seconded by Supervisor Erickson. Motion carried by 3 ayes, 0 nays. Chairperson Skrzeczkoski moved to place the Treasurer’s report on file Plan Commission correspondence – Raymond/Margaret Delong, 707 1st St, Rothschild, WI 54474 – camper permit issued for 4740 Blackberry Ln Motion by Supervisor Trelka to accept the renewal liquor license application of Dock of DuBay for the 2024 year. Seconded by Supervisor Erickson. Motion carried 3 ayes, 0 nays. Motion by Supervisor Trelka to accept the renewal liquor license application of Mystic Ponds Event Barn for the 2024 year. Seconded by Supervisor Erickson. Motion carried 3 ayes, 0 nays. Motion by Supervisor Trelka to accept the renewal liquor license application of Jolly Rogers for the 2024 year. Seconded by Supervisor Erickson. Motion carried 3 ayes, 0 nays. Motion by Supervisor Trelka to accept and sign the 2024-2029 Animal Control Municipality Contract with Portage County. Seconded by Supervisor Erickson. Motion carried 3 ayes, 0 nays. Motion by Chairperson Skrzeczkoski to accept and sign the 2025 Assessing Contract with CJ Becker. Seconded by Supervisor Erickson. Motion carried 3 ayes, 0 nays. Discussion regarding the recent rains/storm. There have been a few calls regarding trees down. Motion by Chairperson Skrzeczkoski to contact local vendors for current storm damage and future damage for pricing of removal. Seconded by Supervisor Erickson. Motion carried by 3 ayes, 0 nays. Discussion regarding sale of used guard rail timbers. Motion by Supervisor Erickson to post at Town’s three locations and on website sealed bids for 6” x 8” x 6’ treated timbers will be accepted until 6:00p on July 10, 2024. High bid will get choice amount. Seconded by Supervisor Trelka. Motion carried 3 ayes, 0 nays. Chairperson Skrzeczkoski brought forward correspondence received from Portage County Solid Waste Dept, regarding fees that will be added to waste haulers due to recycling material that is not being properly sorted. Request from Portage County Emergency Management to discuss with the Town participating in Portage County Hazard Mitigation Plan. Supervisor Trelka raised concern regarding Jerimie Willis not working for a week. It was explained that he used available Comp Time that he had earned, along with 2 days of vacation time. Chairperson Skrzeczkoski has talked to Norman Helmuth regarding the ditch that he filled in and that will need to re-ditched, a letter will be sent as a follow-up. Supervisor Trelka mentioned that there are some areas, specifically near the bus terminal that some shoulder work is needed. Motion by Chairperson Skrzeczkoski to pay bills and adjourn.
