Town of ChrisƟana Plan Commission MeeƟng Minutes July 22, 2025, 7:00 PM The public meeƟng was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Plan Commission Chairman, Tom Jelinek In aƩendance were Plan Commission members Dawn Redford, Adam Travis, Kevin Gyland, Cindy Brady, members and friends of the local community. PROCEDURAL The meeƟng was properly noƟced and posted. Yes PUBLIC COMMENT A neighboring resident to the Volenberg Pit/ Quarry had concerns around the blasƟng the quarry does. She indicated no survey had been carried out to assure the stone foundaƟons were not being affected by the blasƟng. She quesƟoned whether the blasƟng is performed within industry parameters simply wanƟng to ensure the structural integrity of the houses in the area are maintained. An RG Huston representaƟve explained they do not do the blasƟng. They use State licensed blasters, Olsons Power and another. He offered to set up a seismograph on her property. They would take pictures of the house inside and out and record the vibraƟon and provide a graph so the owner can see where they are at. Adding that the state licensed blasters are fully insured. Further discussion around the company’s days and hours of operaƟon as well as how much material is leŌ in the pit was had. It was menƟoned that the town has not received any complaints in all the years of their operaƟon. BUSINESS Approval of minutes: June 24, 2025, Plan Commission meeƟng minutes Cindy Brady moved to approve minutes from June 24, 2025. Dawn Redford seconded the moƟon. MoƟon Carried 5-0 A request by R. G. Huston Company, Inc. for a Conditional Use Permit, ten-year time extension of an existing nonmetallic mining mineral extraction site (existing conditional use permit #02333) for parcels 016/0612-192-8000-6 and 016/0612-192-8501-0. Any discussion that was had: The commission verified that the company is not making any changes from the exisƟng CUP on this new CUP applicaƟon. They also confirmed the site has proper signage on its berms and around the site etc. Dawn Redford moved to approve the 10-year extension on the condiƟonal use permit with all the sƟpulaƟons that were there from the last condiƟonal use permit. Kevin Gyland seconded the moƟon. MoƟon Carried 5-0 ADJOURNMENT Adam Travis moved to adjourn the meeƟng. Dawn Redford seconded the moƟon.
