Town of Bristol Parks Committee Meeting Agenda Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at 5:30 pm @ Bristol Town Hall Agenda I. Call to Order a. Call to order at 5:39 b. Ben, Lindsay, Dave, Scott (Nancy and Bristol Gardens) present; Ben left at 6 for Town Board Mtg. II. Review and approval of minutes from April 22, 2025 meeting. a. Scott first, Second Dave III. May park clean up review and discussion for improvement next year. a. Good turn out in all neighborhoods; tree planting went well overall as well b. Revisit that convo in January c. Bristol Gardens had a lot of controversy due to the Lymans field baseball drama d. Scheduling between parks and trees; not as much time needed in between IV. Review proposal for shelter at Scottish Highlands park. We will need a motion and vote to approve it to send to the Town Board at their next meeting. The proposal is coming from the neighborhood. This neighborhood does not have a shelter. The other neighborhoods have a shelter nearby. Funding could possibly come from the money held by the town from developers. a. Brooks Ridge and Norway Estates have shelters; resubmit the proposal without the garbage can, approve it to go to the board via emails. b. Benninger Quote (they did the previous parks in Bristol) c. Attempt to get the same powder coated structure to decrease wear and tear. Karen can help. d. Add picnic tables V. Tree grant discussion for next year. a. Trees seem to be growing and doing well b. Little oak trees in honor of Jerry are doing well also. c. Nancy supporting this vision; d. Timeline–Grants due Nov 1, 2025; aerial map of each park and decide where to plant them at the next mtg. Reach out to Tamara to see what she used-Lindsay do; submit similar plan VI. Discuss a request for flashing walk signs across Egre Rd. by the Heyday development. This may be complicated because the city of Sun Prairie owns the south side of the road. a. Tabled; doesn’t seem to fit our purview; Lindsay reach out to Tamara for background VII. Park awareness week(s) is something we tried last year. Discuss options for this year. a. Chalk and Bubbles are available to give away; May tree planting, June is Park awareness month b. Table and bring back in the Spring agenda; january/feb plan VIII. Lyman’s field discussion on fencing and Karen’s questions. a. Not being rented; everything was working previously; keys to the sign board are missing b. Lady spraying weeds? Is this happening? Field was always utilized c. Dave can coordinate a sprayer available to support the community member who wants to donate her time for a designated time for IX. Update on the scheduling software. a. System isn’t fully accessible; trouble with running it; training time allotted Kim and Karen not super computer savvy. Suzanne could help and support (or her husband). X. Update on dog poop issue at Brooks Ridge Trail. a. Still a person leaving some bags; Scott has a trail camera b. No response to the letter; unsure if he’s still throwing XI. Discuss committee positions and appoint leader(s). a. Norway Estates Park Rep–talk with Tamara b. Dave Chair, Scott Co-Chair; Committee Chair c. Lindsay take notes and keep agendas d. XII. Public Comment/Questions items not on agenda a. Suzanne-Tennis Courts at Bristol Gardens-Duck Tape for Pickleball; consider painting lines next year for pickleball b. Portapotty at Bristol Gardens-cleaning hasn’t been great; can we get rid of it? c. Bristol Ridge-trees in access pathway; Karen or Kim send a letter requesting the trees to be removed AND the trampoline; Posts in the park entrance so the neighbor knows where it is so people don’t feel that they’re in peoples yards d. Recommend putting in some posts; Scott will draft some emails and pass it along to Dave and Kim/Karen and ask to send to remove trampoline and longhorn dr trailer thats parked XIII.
