Town Board — Minutes

Blooming Grove Town Board Meeting Minutes for November 11, 2024 Chair Bristol called the meeting to order at 5:30pm. Other Town Board members in attendance were Supervisor Schroeder, Supervisor Teuscher and Supervisor Young. Also in attendance were Clerk/Treasurer/Administrator Mike Wolf, Deputy Administrator John Wright, Public Works Supervisor Cory Buske, and Town resident Deborah Sellers. The pledge of allegiance was recited. Chair Bristol asked if the meeting notice had been properly posted, and Mike Wolf said it had been. 2a. Open Public Hearing on 2025 Town Budget: Chair Bristol made a motion to open the Public Hearing on the 2025 Town Budget. Supervisor Young seconded the motion and it passed 4-0 at 5:31pm. Deborah Sellers had several questions regarding the proposed budget, and they were answered by the Town Board and Mike Wolf. The Board considered whether to decrease the Town levy from $250,000 (last year) to either $125,000 or $100,000 this year. Revenue from varying sources were increasing from last year, especially room tax revenue. In addition the Town has begun to draw down on its unallocated reserves with the knowledge the Town will dissolve on October 31, 2027. 2b. Public Hearing Closed: Chair Bristol made a motion to close the Public Hearing on the 2025 Town Budget. Supervisor Schroeder seconded the motion, and it passed 4-0 at 5:59pm. 3. Recess: Chair Bristol made a motion to recess the Town Board meeting in order to hold the Town Elector Meeting. The motion was seconded by Supervisor Schroeder and passed 4-0 at 5:59pm. 4. Reconvene: Chair Bristol made a motion to reconvene the Town Board meeting. Supervisor Young seconded the motion and it passed 4-0 at 6:03pm. 5. Adoption of the 2025 Town Budget: Chair Bristol made a motion to adopt the 2025 Town Budget as amended. Supervisor Schroeder seconded the motion, and it passed 4-0. 6. Adjournment: Chair Bristol made a motion to adjourn the meeting, and it was seconded by Supervisor Teuscher. The motion passed 4-0 at 6:04pm. Minutes written and submitted by Michael J.
