TITLE: Town of Berry Special Board Meeting Minutes DATE: October 28, 2025 TIME: 7:00 – 8:31 p.m. PLACE: Town Hall, 9046 State Road 19, Mazomanie, WI 53560 POSTINGS: Town Hall and Town of Berry Website I. CALL TO ORDER – ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. Board members present: Duane Haag, David Evert, Michael Statz, Derek Statz and Nichole Schwoerer. Also present Clerk, Brenda Kahl and Patrolman, Lucas Danz II. CONFIRMATION OF COMPLIANCE WITH OPEN MEETING LAWS The Clerk confirmed that the agenda was posted at the town hall and on the town website. III. DISCUSSION/ACTION RE: MSA PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT FOR WHIPPOORWILL ROAD RECONSTRUCTION Motion M Statz/D Statz to approve the MSA Professional Services Agreement. Motion carried. Vote 5-0 IV. DISCUSSION/ACTION RE: GETTING BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF A NEW PLOW TRUCK Motion Evert/M Statz to create specifications for a new plow truck for the bidding process. Motion carried. Vote 5-0 V. DISCUSSION/ACTION RE: AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT FOR EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES WITH CROSS PLAINS AREA EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICE DISTRICT Motion Evert/Haag to deny the amendment. Motion was withdrawn. Motion Schwoerer/D Statz to approve the amendment to the agreement requesting an extension of the date to provide notice of withdrawal until July 1, 2026 along with proposing a meeting of the four municipalities. Motion carried. Vote 4-1. In favor: Schwoerer, M Statz, Haag and D Statz. Opposed: Evert VI. DISCUSSION/ACTION RE: LETTER TO DISTRICT 28 COUNTY BOARD REPRESENTATIVE AND DANE COUNTY BOARD IN SUPPORT OF FUNDING THE SHERIFF DEPARTMENT Motion D Statz/M Statz to notify the Town’s District 28 Representative and the Dane County Board stating that the Town is opposed to the operating budget amendments 02, 03, and 04 that will cut Sheriff Deputy Positions. Motion carried. Vote 4-1. In favor: Schwoerer, M Statz, Haag and D Statz. Opposed: Evert VII. ADJOURN Motion Evert/M Statz to adjourn until the next regular meeting or the call of the chair.
