TITLE: Town of Berry Town Board Meeting Minutes DATE: October 20, 2025 TIME: 7:00 – 7:31 p.m. PLACE: Town Hall, 9046 State Road 19, Mazomanie, WI 53560 POSTINGS: Town Hall and Town of Berry website I. CALL TO ORDER – ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. Board members present: Duane Haag, David Evert, Michael Statz and Nichole Schwoerer. Derek Statz was late. Also present Clerk, Brenda Kahl and Patrolman, Lucas Danz. II. CONFIRMATION OF COMPLIANCE WITH OPEN MEETING LAWS The Clerk confirmed that the agenda was posted at the town hall and on the town website. III. APPROVE MINUTES OF SEPTEMBER 15, 2025 Motion Evert/M Statz to approve the minutes of September 15, 2025. Motion carried. Vote 4-0 Derek Statz is present. IV. PUBLIC COMMENTS: You may address the Board on any item not on the agenda. A discussion item may be placed on a future agenda. Public comment may be heard on any agenda item either now, or at the time the agenda item is to be discussed, or at the discretion of the Town Chair at any other time the agenda item is discussed. V. PATROLMAN REPORT Scott Construction finished overlaying and shouldering Matz Road and Spring Valley Road and signage is being reinstalled and updating any outdated signs. Continuing to mow the road ditches. VI. DISCUSSION/ACTION RE: AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT FOR EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES WITH CROSS PLAINS AREA EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES DISTRICT Motion D Statz/Schwoerer to postpone until receive more of an explanation from the Village of Cross Plains President. Motion carried. Vote 5-0 VII. DISCUSSION/ACTION RE: PROPOSED RESOLUTION FROM THE VILLAGE OF CROSS PLAINS TO AUTHORIZE A LEVY LIMIT EXCEPTION FOR CHARGES ASSESSED BY THE CROSS PLAINS AREA EMS DISTRICT AND CROSS PLAINS- BERRY JOINT FIRE DISTRICT Motion Schwoerer/Evert to approve Resolution 2025-2, A Resolution to Authorize a Levy Limit Exception for Charges Assessed by the Cross Plains Area EMS District. Motion carried. Vote 5-0 VIII. DISCUSSION/ACTION RE: REVISING RECYCLING AND SOLID WASTE ORDINANCE 206.1 Motion Evert/D Statz to approve the revisions to Recycling and Solid Waste Ordinance 206.1. Motion carried. Vote 5-0 IX. DISCUSSION/ACTION RE: 2026 BUDGET Motion Haag/Evert to approve the revised 2026 Budget. Motion carried. Vote 5-0 X. BUDGETARY MATTERS A. Discussion/action re: Payment of bills Motion Haag/Evert to approve the payment of bills. Motion carried. Vote 5-0. Check numbers 19890-19927 XI. COMMITTEE REPORTS/CORRESPONDENCE/COMMUNICATIONS *Park Commttee: Looking into using black plastic mesh to place under the shelter due to the swallow nesting issues. *Consolidation meeting for the Black Earth and Mazomanie Fire Districts is scheduled for November 6th. XII. DISCUSSION OF FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS *No parking signs on Matz Road *Sample Utility Accommodation Policy from WTA XIII.
