May 13, 2025, 7:00 p.m., at the Town Hall, 9046 State Road 19, Mazomanie, WI 53560 Agenda Approved 7/1/2025 1. Call to order 7:03pm a. Present Molling, Bayer, Lucey, Crittenden 2. Approve minutes of Mar 24, 2025. a. Motion: Lucey/Bayer approve. Motion carried. Vote 3-0, Crittenden abstained. 3. Public Comments: You may address the Board on any item not on the agenda. A discussion item may be placed on a future agenda. Public comment may be heard on any agenda item either now, or at the time the agenda item is to be discussed, or at the discretion of the Chair at any other time the agenda item is discussed. Comments are generally limited to three minutes. a. none 4. 2025 weed control plan a. Craig Annen (per a conversation with Molling) recommends about ¼ of budget to be spent on invasive cattail, ½ on reed canary, ¼ on teasel and other weeds resulting from hwy 19 construction. b. Motion Molling/Lucey: follow Annen’s plan for 2025 weed control. Motion carried. Vote 4-0. c. Motion Molling/Lucey: allocate $2000 for 2025 weed control. Motion carried. Vote 4-0. d. Lucey volunteers to pull white clover and parsnip this summer and cut any trees. 5. Discussion regarding possible conversion of portion of playing field to prairie a. Discussion only b. Lucey spoke with Quercus, who does conversions to native species. They estimate about 1 ac will take 3 treatments May, July, Sep to kill off current grass. $500/treatment for a total of $1500. Could then be seeded down in late fall/early winter. Could use seed collected from Berry prairie. c. Noted that there is not funds in this year’s budget for the $1500, and Berry has already contracted with someone to mow in 2025. d. Flo to request more seed from Dane Co. Parks for area to be converted and include wood betony in request to control Canada goldenrod (a patch was observed by Molling where there was weed control a few years ago). e. Molling to contact “kite guy” Michael Sherman to get his thoughts on conversion: will he still be able to fly kite there with remaining grassy area? Does he have other places he can fly kites? 6. Next meeting scheduled is Sep 22, 7pm. a. This was decided last meeting, so only re-announced. 7. Adjourn a. Motion Crittenden/Lucey. Motion carried. Vote 4-0. b. Adjourned 7:55pm.
