Lempke has been in contact with both Snyder & Associates and myself wondering what is going on with this. I told them that we will be addressing this at tonight’s meeting. With this we were under the assumption that once our portion was met that the grant would cover the rest. We were all told that we would need to get a bridge loan to cover until we were reimbursed from the state. Motion carries. Clerk Skeeter Fahser wanted to respond to the citizen who wanted to know the plan. Talking to Scott from Snyder and they will reach out to Supervisor Bruce Duellman and he will keep us in the loop of what is being done. Discussion with possible action- Board Member vacancy. Supervisor Greg Sager we have received a letter of resignation from Chairman Dave Roberts and would like us read it out loud and on the record. Clerk Skeeter Fahser read the letter. Clerk Skeeter Fahser reached out to our Town Lawyer to find out the correct way to proceed with filling the position of Town Chairman. She was informed that there is 3 ways to fill the position which are the process for filling a town vacancy is laid out in Wis. Stat. § 17.25. Basically, vacancies are filled by appointment of the town board at a properly noticed board meeting. When there is a town board member vacancy, the remaining supervisors and the town clerk vote together to appoint a replacement to fill the remainder of the elected term. Vacancies in the board chair position are often filled by a current board member, simultaneously causing a new vacancy on the town board. The Wisconsin Towns Association suggests waiting until the next town board meeting before filling that newly vacant supervisor position so as to avoid the appearance that it was predetermined that the current supervisor would be appointed as chair. Remember, all discussion about appointment must take place at a properly noticed meeting. Clerk Skeeter Fahser informed the board that we may have missed the deadline to have it on the November election. We real don’t have the time to wait for letters of interest or the 2 supervisor and myself can appoint a new Chairman to fulfil the remain term. I also was informed that there was 2 people interested in the role as Chairman. Jason Shalecki and Eric Fahser have put their names in as interested. Supervisor Bruce Duellman makes a motion to appointing the new chairman and he makes a motion to appoint Eric Fahser for the position as Town Chairman interim. Supervisor Greg Sagor seconds the motion to appoint Eric Fahser as the Town Chairman. Clerk Skeeter did not cast a vote. Motion carries. Motion to Adjourn- Supervisor Bruce Duellman makes motion to adjourn the meeting. Supervisor Greg Sagor seconds the motion to adjourn. Meeting adjourned at 7:05pm.
