past period and 92 year to date. Fire department assisted in a missing persons call. For grants, they
applied for grant from Kwik Trip but was denied. Feel a grant from Kwik Trip will be hard to get due to
not having one in our community. The FEMA grant was re-opened. For the grant, was not able to apply
for 2 trucks so they are writing grant for 1 tender. One truck could cost $500,000. They spoke with a
grant writer and since the department is not staffed full-time, they would not get a grant for the exhaust
system. Discussion was brought up to use grants for upgrading radios and pagers. The former FEMA is
no longer available due to the hurricanes. Chief received quotes on HVAC replacement. There was
discussion regarding the A/C replacement and clean/dirty air concerns. $20,000 was budgeted for A/C
and need to use that money for A/C only. There was no mention of clean air concerns prior. Keller
Construction will be at fire station 12/5/24 to give ideas on structure as they were the original company
that built the station. Board agreed to see what Keller says before proceeding with A/C. For the payroll,
they are over budget by $7,000 due to many calls. They discussed a long range plan for engines as the
standards are changing in 2026. They would like to order now due to costs increasing. There was a
question if the townships would have funds for replacements or new engines. Towns stated they were not
sure till they look it up in their books. Chairman/Dave Stelzner stated Fire District President Gorchals
turns down the fire departments wants and focuses on the needs. Supervisor/John Neuman asked if they
publicize donate money for fire department. Supervisor/Terry Wilz stated yes, but the last time they
