a. Building Construction – Town’s Cost Share: The last fire district meeting the question came up on how
each municipality will handle the cost of the building construction. Clerk/Sonia Thede-Kramer asked
Towns Association and they said it depends on who owns the building. Chairman/Jim Biddison spoke
with City of Weyauwega/Jeremy. They had the same question. Both Chairman/Jim Biddison and City
administrator/Jeremy thought the fire district owned. We need to review agreement between
municipalities.
b. Jan 24th Meeting: Chairman/Jim Biddison & Supervisor/Dave Stelzner attended the meeting. They
reviewed the building construction plan and asked more questions about the 2nd floor. If the 2nd floor was
removed, the estimated cost of the 2nd floor would be $300,000. The fire department has applied for
grants all denied as Federal ran out of funds. New business was discussed, items included in discussion is
SCBA Compressor System stopped working and will be using donation money to replace. They applied
for grants and received other items like a vehicle grant and exhaust system. Chairman/Jim Biddison
announced, he is stepping down from fire district board.

11. GFL Environmental
a. Carts: Chairman/Jim Biddison received questions from several individuals on who get carts and who
doesn’t. The list is from the tax roll and for residents only, not commercial. Commercial properties
should get their own garbage pick-up. What makes the list difficult to follow is who receives carts due to
the list only shows the mailing address, not the property address.
b. Duplexes & Tri-plexes: Chairman/Jim Biddison reported our townships having duplexes, one is on Reek
Rd. He advised due to the Duplex there should be 4 carts, 1 set for each family (side). We also just found
out our township has 1 Tri-plex on Lakeshore Dr. The county sees Tri-plexes as a commercial operation.
c. Locations Not Picked Up: Supervisor/Dave Stelzner reported his mother’s garbage was not picked up, he
told her he will investigate it. Then he found out her garbage was picked up later. Several other residents
were not picked up either. One was on Marsh Rd, there was a mis-understanding about being able to
drive down Marsh Rd due to the road being gravel. This was resolved. Resident, Hofferber’s garbage
was not picked up for 3 weeks. Chairman/Jim Biddison expressed to GFL that this is unacceptable.
d. Extra Cost For Additional Carts: Chairman/Jim Biddison received what the extra cost to have more carts
for a resident. To have an extra recycling cart is $17 per month and to have an extra garbage cart is $27
per month. This would be pre-billed quarterly to the resident.
12. Website Update
a. Doman Verification: After the last meeting, Clerk/Sonia Thede-Kramer sent paperwork to obtain a
domain, .gov. Chairman/Jim Biddison received a phone call, and he verified the request is correct and all
is ok to proceed. The feds just needed verification verbally from the Chairman.

a. Chairman/Jim Biddison received a phone call from Red Elk Digestor. Quantum Dairy is putting in a new
digestor and Red Elk wanted to know what road they can drive on. He advised; they cannot drive on
Anklam Rd as that road is not set up for bigger vehicles. Must go on Buchholtz Rd.
b. Chairman/Jim Biddison received an email from a business that sells culverts. He told them we are not
interested. We don’t stock culverts and if a resident needs a culvert, it is at their own cost, and he has to
get a permit. If we decide we need a culvert, we will go through county highway.
c. Clerk/Sonia Thede-Kramer received a phone call from a real estate company as they have a client that is
interested in purchasing Gill’s Landing and wanted to know more about their liquor license. She emailed
a copy of the liquor license to the real estate agent.
d. Chairman/Jim Biddison received a letter from Waupaca County Treasurer. They are installing an upgrade
system for property taxes. The county treasurer department collects the property taxes from the residence
then distributes them to each municipality. The letter says they will be charging each municipality a base
rate of $250 and $.50 per parcel. For our township, it would be an extra $673. Clerk/Sonia Thede-
Kramer said we already pay an annual fee for property taxes, called 2022 postage tax. Board is thinking
the $673 will be added onto the postage tax.
