Matt Manske, Supervisor 2 - Absent; Sandy Jensen, Treasurer- Present; Jeannette Zielinski, Clerk - Present.
Cemetery Sexton Trent & Annette Kehl were asked to be Present.
All Meetings/Hearings will adhere to Robert's Rules of Order Pursuant to Town of Mukwa Ordinance 10-05.
Cemetery Discussion:
(a) Cemetery Committee: Discussion - Noted that this would be recommended to meet on an as-needed basis
during the set-up process but could meet bi-annually or annually after that time. Members will be Chairman
Simonis, Treasurer Jensen, Sexton Kehl & Clerk Zielinski.
(b) Contact Number for Funeral Homes - Cemetery Services/Vendors: Discussion. Currently the funeral
homes reach out to Cemetery Sexton, Trent Kehl to notify of burials, but it was felt that it would be better for the
funeral homes to reach out to both Sexton Kehl & the Town. Treasurer Jensen has agreed to be the Town contact
for the Funeral Homes & for Cemetery Services (i.e. Tony's). Request to be notified within 24 hours to allow
enough time to prepare site.
(c) Charges: Discussion. Sexton Kehl was asked about current charges for a cemetery space and burial fees.
Discussion on what other cemeteries are currently charging. Sexton Kehl presented the newly revised fee chart
from Tony's Cemetery Service. Much discussion on what the Town should consider, such as cremations & winter
burials. Reimbursement for Treasurer Jensen was also discussed as she will be maintaining the records.
(d) Sexton: Trent Kehl has been the Sexton for many years & is willing to continue. Discussion on duties &
what the position entails. Payment was also discussed. The Town would like to thank Trent, his wife & family
for their assistance & willingness to continue.
(e) Open Discussion: Open discussion for topics not noted as a specific agenda item. Agreed that items will be
brought to the Town Board Meeting, but that a Committee Meeting would be needed. All members agreed on
Tuesday, June 16th at 6:00 p.m. for the first Cemetery Committee Meeting.
Motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Supervisor Shaw with a second to the motion made by Chairman
Simonis. Motion carried.
Respectfully Submitted,
