CAWS: Met last on October 8, 2025. Daryl Hanson gave a report on the meeting at the
Waupaca County PTF site. This was not a legal meeting, as it was not posted correctly, but
he was able to share information. Town of Larrabee is potentially leaving the CAWS
agreement, and discussion was held on potential repercussions to the CAWS if this were to
happen. Revenue is short for the actual cost of hauling the garbage. The weight of the
garbage versus what is being charged is not in balance.
Fire Department: There was no meeting in October. In September there were 21 calls; three
of which were in Matteson. So far in 2025 there have been 214 calls. There was a total of
256 calls in all of 2024. The final CAFD budget input meeting was held on October 2, 2025.
Ambulance: 2026 proposed budget was discussed. Revenue should be up in 2026. Budget
will be static from 2025-2026. New blacktop and striping for the parking lot was approved
at the ambulance office. Several thousands of dollars have been recouped from a
Medicare fee audit.
Comprehensive Planning: Nothing.
County Board: Discussion over proposed 2026 budget was held. Budget will be balanced
for 2026. Judges would like to have increased security coverage at the courthouse.
Strategic Plan for Waupaca County should be completed soon.
Animal Control: 33 delinquent dog tax letters were recently sent out. After discussion, the
Board decided to leave the current Animal Control Ordinance intact.
Roads: Lake Road will have bids opened at the December 2025 meeting. Schuster will
work on the notice of bids, and Clerk will publish. Bids will be opened at 6:30PM on
December 8, 2025. Culvert permit for Cody Michelkiewicz on Lundt Road was approved.
The culvert near the Gehrt farm on 7th Street needs some fill. Nature Road needs to be
filled with gravel.
Motion was made by Schuster to adjourn. Meeting was adjourned at 8:25 PM.
These minutes are draft minutes until approved at the November 12, 2025 Regular Monthly
Meeting.
Respectfully submitted by Mike Mehlberg, Clerk.
