Town of Lind Special Board Meeting Lind Town Hall, N1315 County Road A, Waupaca, WI Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. 1. Meeting called to order at 6:00 p.m. 2. Open Meeting Statement read. 3. Pledge of Allegiance done. 4. Roll call: K. Nickel, C. Hardy, F. Neumann, K. Barrows all present. Z. Nelson absent. Quorum of Board is present. Public attendance per sign in book.(5 signed in) 5. Approved Agenda: Motion by C. Hardy to approve agenda as presented; second by K. Nickel; motion passed unanimously by voice vote. 6. Discussion and Possible action on moving of Caucus and Board meeting to Waupaca County Highway Dept.: Discussion held on reasons for anticipation of larger crowd for the caucus; private group is also mailing out postcards to town electors encouraging them to attend. C. Hardy shared concerns on limited time frame if we did not have room for the attendees at Town Hall and need to adjourn/reconvene within set time frame of 10 days. Waupaca Highway Dept facility is available for us to use at no cost; microphones are available but we would not be able to Zoom the meeting. S. Golding shared concerns that we need to be prepared to do caucus by paper ballot. K. Nickel clarified that it is a vote by the electors at the caucus to determine how they want to vote if one is needed: by show of hands or by paper ballot. The electors also vote for a Chair of the caucus. F. Neumann asked if we have to worry about non-residents trying to vote. Discussion held and suggestion made that sign-in sheets should also ask for address. Motion by K. Nickel to move location of caucus and Board meeting on January 13, 2025 to Waupaca County Highway Dept facility; second by C. Hardy; motion passed unanimously by voice vote. 7.
