land to be divided in the town. Supervisor Wagor said Act 68 is a state mandate that the town is required to

Discussion/Action re: Washington County Countywide EMS System. Chairman Zagel has
participated in meetings regarding potential creation of a county EMS system in which the county
would increase its levy. This is a tax that the county will impose on everybody in the county. 75% of
those funds come back to the town to pay for future EMS. Chairman Zagel stated assessed value in our
community is high. The county is taxing off assessed value. The county will pass whether we accept
this resolution or not. Supervisor Wagor stated it’s a back door way to increase taxes by a township
that is limited by its levy. He also stated that we’re being asked to pass a resolution without it being
final. Chairman Zagel stated if we don’t participate, we will be taxed with nothing coming back.
Currently EMS is provided by Lifestar at no cost. Supervisor Lindley stated there isn’t enough
information and would like to participate in Schoemann’s presentation, so everyone is on the same
page.
