TOWN OF PRESQUE ISLE BOARD OF REVIEW – MINUTES October 8, 2026, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Town Hall – 8306 School Loop Rd, Presque Isle, WI 54557 Attendance • Allen Eschenbauch – Chair • Cathy Logan Weber – Supervisor / Vice Chair • Supervisor Wolter – Absent • Ryan Kernoski – Town Assessor • Lori Thomas – Clerk 1.Call to Order The Board of Review was called to order at 6:00 PM by Chair Allen Eschenbauch. 2. Appointment of Chairperson and Vice Chairperson Allen Eschenbauch served as Chairperson. Supervisor Cathy Logan Weber was confirmed as Vice Chairperson. 3. Confirmation of Meeting Notices The Clerk confirmed that all required Board of Review and Open Book notices were properly posted. 4. Training Verification It was verified that at least one Board of Review member completed the annual state-mandated training. Both Allen and Cathy acknowledged completion. 5. Presentation of Annual Assessment Report & Assessment Roll Town Assessor Ryan Kernoski presented the 2026 Annual Assessment Report. Key points included: • Assessed value increased just over 1% from the previous year. • Equalized value increased 9.15%, resulting in an assessment ratio of 63.70%, below the state’s preferred range and triggering a scheduled 2028 reassessment. • New construction totaled $5,630,500. • The assessor reviewed sales validations, parcel changes, statutory corrections, and confirmed no double assessments. • The assessment roll was balanced with county records. • Only one Open Book walk-in occurred, resulting in no value change. 6. Two-Hour Window for Property Assessment Objections No assessment objections were filed or presented. No requests for telephone testimony or sworn written statements (PA-814) were received.
