Pipke Park Kiosk Chair Eschenbauch reported on a conversation with Barb at Park and Rec regarding relocation of the Pipke Park kiosk, which is currently in the parking lot and has been subject to snowplow damage. • The proposal is to move the kiosk to the west end of the pavilion (the side without doors), near existing recycling and garbage receptacles. A parking space is located there, and the existing pavilion roof would provide overhead protection, with the option of adding a small side roof for additional protection. • The kiosk would be mounted alongside the building with a small gap to allow airflow behind it. Attachment to the side (rather than block) was discussed and deemed acceptable. • Park and Rec do not yet have a budget for the relocation. The board agreed to approve the concept and direct Park and Rec to develop a cost estimate to bring back for final approval. Information on Looking into a Town Administrator Chair Eschenbauch reported that the Town Board and town officers have been participating in a shared-governance workshop with the four headwaters-area towns (Presque Isle, Boulder Junction, Manitowish Waters, and Winchester), facilitated by a consultant. The most recent session focused on the possibility of sharing administrative costs between towns. Key Discussion Points: • A panel was convened that included representatives from the Town of La Pointe (Madeline Island), which is demographically similar to Presque Isle — small resident population with many seasonal/second-home properties and a comparable tax base. La Pointe has employed a town administrator for approximately 15 years. Next Steps: The board expressed openness to exploring the concept further. The Chair stated the immediate goal is to form a committee of Presque Isle and Winchester residents with relevant administrative experience to investigate the feasibility of this arrangement. The committee's work and any findings will be brought back to the board. A table at the upcoming Community Opportunity Fair was suggested as a venue for public awareness. No formal vote was taken on this item. This was an informational discussion only. 6. Public Comments Sign ordinance complaint — the Chair noted a complaint had been received regarding a sign placed on or near private/county right - of-way property. The Chair will conduct a drive-by to assess whether the sign is in violation of the town ordinance before brin ging it as a full agenda item. The ordinance is posted on the town website. A member of the public (town road crew representative) offered the following comment regarding the bike signage discussion: • Bike route signs should be placed on the outside of the ditches to minimize risk of snow plow damage. At many road intersections, this placement is not possible due to obstructions such as mailboxes already positioned beyond the blacktop edge. • The public commenter urged that sign placement be carefully coordinated with the town road crew before installation to avoid conflicts with snow removal operations. • It was noted that existing sign poles (such as those bearing A TV/snowmobile route signs) can be utilized where available, eliminating the need to install new posts. The board thanked the commenter and directed Wilderness Peddlers to reach out to the town road crew for guidance on placement . 10.
