TOWN OF PRESQUE ISLE, ZONING COMMITTEE & PLAN COMMISSION Minutes Feb 10 , 2026 P.I. Community Center v1 Four Members Present: Chairperson Peggy Johnson, Patrick Roche, Amy Moerschbaecher & Carl Schoenecker. Forest Jukich, Zoning Administrator present. Peggy called the meeting to order at 3:00 p.m. Approval of Feb. 10, 2026, agenda motioned by Carl seconded by Patrick, MC. Approval of Jan. 13, 2025, minutes, motioned by Peggy, & seconded by Amy, MC. Public Members in Attendance : Bob Heilman/ Annabelle lake New Business Kubiak / Orms South Shore Lots(P.I. lake) lot reconfiguration Communications snafu between recording secretary & town chairman. Copy of proposal was not sent to Committee members or Zoning Administrator. Physical copy of proposal was shown to all in attendance and briefly discussed. Owner of lot 3 owner gaining portion of lot 2 from owner of lot 1&2. It was determined that although straightforward, all members of committee & administrator should review & discuss before making recommendation. Tabled to next meeting. If time is a factor for surveyor, the committee can meet ad-hoc and make immediate recommendations to town board. Old Business Local policy review of Vilas Co. Tourist room houses(TRA). Short term rentals Carl reported that after reviewing the 10 other Vilas County towns, all townships basically require TRA’s to pay room tax to each respective Town Treasure. Committee members were interested in P.I. and how do we know all fees are getting paid. It was discussed that someone on town level should be comparing the spreadsheet of Vilas County zoning permits of Presque Isle vs. Room tax paid to P.I. Treasure for the same period. In theory,…they should match, and if not, what follow-on action is required. Al will report back at next meeting in March. Review of proposed shipping container ordinance / county zoning correspondence It was agreed that County Zoning Administrator is confused exactly what P.I. is requesting from the county. Al will try to communicate with County Zoning Administrator and see if county approval process Workforce & transitional housing development opportunities No recent meeting at township consortium level 902.6 thru? Not discussed Zoning Administrator Report: General Discussion: Old copy village plat handout & review, original 1958 zoning ordinance handout, previous zoning committee guidelines handout and review.
